Like any good bargain hunter I thrifted on the way there. New Clark brand boots. So vintage looking. I will happily tuck them away for next winter.
A Lily Pulitzer dress for my daughter. I also got a couple of pieces of clothing for myself and some tapered candles to burn this summer on the porch.
My sweet Grand and I treated ourselves to a very luxurious foot soak and dinner out. I purchased this mug at the spa (they sell a lot of teas.)
I also did something I have never done before. While my grand was in school. I parked my car at one end of town and walked down to a little resturant and sat by myself and had breakfast! I then shopped at the little shops on the walk back.
I decided to make a morning glory quick bread. Lots of ingredients and then while washing up....
Two chips in my mixing bowl ugg! Where did the chips go in the bread? So out it went.
I had all of these farm fresh eggs....
So I made a custard pie.

Have a wonderful week.

It sounds like you had a fun time with Miss B and fun to have a girls day. You always find the best goodies. I do have a pair like that, but Sketchers, I go to the local TJ stores and get bargains that way. Sad to lose that delicious looking bread.
I was scared before my cataract surgery but so happy once it was done! Breathe! You've got this.
What a good time you had. I love your thrift finds.
Praying the surgery goes well for you.
Yay! You got to enjoy some time with Miss B. How fun! LOL on the cups...I have an entire set of those (in all the different patterns - think there are 4 total patterns but I have duplicates of a few)at the lake. I also have a few of the other pieces (small plates, etc.) I just love them. Sorry about your bread - and mixing bowl. Yikes. Yay for you doing breakfast on your own. I had to get used to going into a restaurant by myself when I was practicing and had to travel. Eventually I was perfectly fine with it...but now, I've reverted to being uncomfortable with it for completely different reasons. So, obviously, I never go out to eat anymore. :-(
Sending you good thoughts for your surgery. Glad you got to spend some time with Sweet B, and treat yourself while you were there. Have a good week and let us all know how the surgery goes, when you feel up to it.
PS...sending you good wishes and thoughts for the surgery on Tuesday. My husband had both eyes done and could not believe the difference it made. It was kind of a pain for a few days, but they went quickly it seemed. Best of luck!
How fun to spend some more time with miss sweet B. Of course you found something thrifting. You always do and I always enjoy seeing what you purchase. Yikes on the mixing bowl. Bob left out our muffins I made yesterday and this morning I went to go have one and found them on our counter with lots of ants. UGH Good luck with the cataract surgery. My mom stayed with us a month while she did her two eyes. One eye at a time with a two week resting period in between. Janice
The best trip anywhere is a "thrifted along the way" type. Good luck with your surgery.
Shame on the bread, such a waste of time and good ingredients, but better safe than swallowing glass or chipping a tooth.
I too was afraid of having my eyes cut on. There was NO pain or discomfort at all during or after. The only annoying thing to me was having to use those drops pre and post surgery. And boy did the refrigerator light hurt my eyes when my cataracts were gone. And everything was so much clearer. You will see colors differently and be happy you had it done.
Cataract surgery sounds scary but it isn't. Stick to the restrictions about bending and weights and follow the drops regime. I made a chart to keep myself on schedule with the drops. You'll be fine and it will make a diference in your eye sight. I had only my left eye done. The other didn't qualify and still doesn't though it has gotten worse.
What cute boots! And pity about the bread. The cataract surgery is a piece of cake -- I know. I feels scary, someone by your eyes with sharp instruments. But truly, it is fine.
prayers going out for you .Michelle
I know what you are feeling - I had cataract surgery - just like everyone says - follow the rules. Your bread looked delicious. You found some great items.
We both had both had our cataract surgeries maybe 8years ago now-I don't do well with any of that stuff that puts you to sleep so I asked if I could not have that-he said as long as do Not move. the first eye went well and then the second one was more scary-the bummer is the first couple weeks my vision was amazing and then slowly declined again-but must have it done to avoid going blind.
so sorry about your bake incident, and great thrifting finds good luck with the surgeries
Well, first... prayers for your surgery!!
Second, I LOVE custard pie. Yours looks delicious. I haven't had one in a long time.
I love a good lunch solo and shopping/looking around.
Thinking and Praying for you to be brave 💐🦋🐝x
A little late here…but I am sure the surgery went well. Any procedure is scary!
I've known many people that have had cataract surgery, and they were happy to have it done. The bread looks fabulous. Sure wish I had a working stove. Glad you got to spend some special time with your Grand and with yourself. Great post.
EasyPeasey eye surgery! And you'll see better.
That pie looks wonderful!
hugs
Donna
I helped with many cataract surgeries in my career and I know you'll do great. You will see so much better! I'm sending up prayers for you for a quick healing time and a perfect vision afterwards!
I hope your surgery went well and you will have a great recovery. The bread looks delicious. I also love custard pie.
Good thrifty finds, especially the boots. Too bad about the chips on your mixing bowl though.
