And made bread. One white bread in my Pullman pan the other....
I made into cinnamon bread. Next time more filling. I did add cardamom this time and I will add more of that next time.
I also made a vegetable soup from some fresh veggies I needed to use up. Not husband's favorite but I loved it. I froze a couple of quarts for later.
We are waiting for our second snow storm this weekend. I always start the day with room temp water with elderberry tincture to hopefully boost my immune system. There is a lot going around out there.

The patriots are playing my nerves are shot lol.
Have a wonderful healthy week ❤️

Mmmmm.I can almost smell all that gorgeous baking ! πππ️
I could go for any of that food. I swear by elderberry! Great antiviral. Sambucus. There's an expensive otc that's the same as the plain old elderberry but with its Latin name. You pay for the spelling.
I have a battle scared cookbook too, lol. I love all soups, especially on a rainy or snowy day.
You were busy but it all looks so good.
We are kindred spirits for sure! I made bread and veggie soup too! I actually canned the leftovers. I did the same with homemade chicken noodle soup. I didn't do cinnamon bread though. It's supposed to get super cold here and some snow. Is it even close to spring yet? Nope. Stay healthy!
Nothing like home made bread and some good soup! The old recipes are the best. Just trying to get back into blogging. Have a great week!
Yum! I want some cinnamon bread now. Great idea to put cardamon in it.
I have a 45 year old Betty Crocker cookbook - good stuff.
Didn't the Patriots win? You should be happy! Love the smell of freshly baked bread, nothing better. I have my Fannie Farmer Cookbook, I love it, had it since 1985. Stay warm.
I have that same cookbook-mine is very old too-breads sounds delicious Happy new week
Winter is the perfect time for soup and fresh bread. Actually any time is a good time for that duo. Next time I make bread I'll make one loaf into cinnamon bread. Thanks for the reminder.
I always love the smell of warm bread out of the oven. I just bought some elderberry jam for myself. Sure do miss picking the berries right off my grammas shrub she had on the farm. It has been snowing here every day for almost a week and snowing right now too. Janice
Your vegetable soup looks good ...
Stay warm.
All the best Jan
Your soup looks delicious!

Our grandkids have a stomach flu. We will be staying away for a bit!
I sometimes use my mom's original Joy of Cooking cookbook she got for her wedding. It's the only one that has the scalloped potato recipe I like! And how can you go wrong on bread! Stay cozy!
The Pats won. We were so glad because we saw the Texans wipe out the Steelers last week and were afraid the same thing would happen for the Pats. Our other favorite, Josh Allen and the Bills, lost. Boo hoo.
What a fun weekend, cooking. I love when I feel like having a cooking weekend.
I like your cookbook. Mine is going to be 46 years old, and its falling apart. I love that cookbook.
it's been snowy and cold here, good cooking weather. and the perfect time to make bread!! i love the look of that cookbook!!
Your bread looks delicious. That cinnamon bread would be so good warmed up with a dab of butter. I also have the Betty Crocker cookbook from long ago. It has the best recipes. I hope you have good days the remainder of January. We should be getting some more snow too, maybe next month? January and February are the coldest months here. : )
We should have a poll of "how old is your Betty Crocker cookbook" LOL. Mine was a gift from my little brother several yeas before I got married and is now 44 years old. It's actually in pretty good shape still (well, except for the pages I used over and over)...and the page numbers for well-loved recipes are ingrained in my memory. I went to the lake a week ago and it snowed every day I was there except the day I came home...but was frigidly cold and has only gotten worse and will get even "worser" by the weekend believe it or not. I just saw -45ΒΊ.... HEEEELLLLPPP!
I have a Better Homes and Gardens cookbook from the 50's and love it. Someday I will make the baked Alaska... Someday. Your creations look delicious.
Oh there’s nothing better on a frigid winter day than soup and homemade bread - absolutely delicious! Believe it or not I don’t own a Betty Crocker cookbook - I do have an old Fannie Farmer though. I just sorted out oodles to donate that I never use. Once upon a time I was a cookbook editor and they always gave me a copy of the cookbook I worked on - too many to count! Hmmm maybe I need a cookbook giveaway! Keep warm and safe.
As I always heard growing up (to express amazement) - “Good night Irene!” That is brutal Robin!! How on earth do you keep warm??
I have a couple of books I got from my mom and one from Bill's mom, I like those better than new recipes. People are already cleaning out the stores today, so we need to get out tomorrow to make sure we have what we need before the storm hits. I was reading your other posts and saw that your husband is going in for surgery. Will have him in my prayers.
Your bread looks very, very, very nice. Great to have soup and bread during a snow storm. Hope you're staying warm. Cheers, Ivy.
mm, cinnamon bread!
