We went to a festival of trees. It is a fund raiser for
scholarships for the college. I put plenty of tickets in a few of the trees and fingers crossed I will win one of them.
This tree a little boy was so excited about this tree and told me all about it. If I could of purchased this tree I would of to give to him. He was so sweet and excited. I do hope he wins it.
Cookies are baked and dropped off at where they needed to be. I hope everyone enjoyed them on the cookie walks. I decided to make a mincemeat pie.
My family was very English, and I had all the English goodies for the holidays. I married into a French-Canadian family. I learned all of their pies and goodies. My husband never much cared for mincemeat or a good fruit cake so over the 50 years I didn't get them much. This is the year! The pie turned out so yummy I have frozen 3/4th of it or I would eat the whole pie!
This is the stocking I just got last week. The mantle has my tree topper collection.
Feather tree with all of my small ornaments.
One of my handmade Santas.
The house is dry from the woodstove. So, I made a simmer pot of all wonderful smelling things, put it in a pot filled with water and let it simmer all day.

You have the Christmas spirit. Enjoy!
My goodness but your house must smell wonderful. Love the little trees - hope both you and the little boy win. Very fun. Great on the pies. Glad to read that this is the year! Go you!
I love all your decorations. Tell me about your mince pie? My mother used to make one that I loved. Also what all goes in your simmering pot? I should try that too.
Oh that "Adventure Awaits" tree is adorable! My grand and a dozen cats would be in there until Christmas and then some. Good luck with your tickets...knowing your luck of late, your odds are probably very good. Mincemeat pie and fruitcake were two of my dad's very favorites. My mom only ever made the mincemeat pies at Thanksgiving, though...which was fine by me. ;-) I do like a good fruitcake though. It's been below normal cold here as well. It makes me worried what January/February will bring. More snow moving Tuesday and Wednesday. No doubt of a white Christmas here.
I love everything about this post- the sweet little boy, yes I hope you both get your trees! Your lovely old feather tree, and the pie looks amazing - And kindred spirits, I do like fruit cake!
Your pie looks amazing! I'm not a big fan of mincemeat but my brother is and when I lived in Chicago I made little hand mincemeat pies for him. We heat with wood and I now need to boil some good smelling and air moistening water! I hope you win a tree! I hope that little boy does too. That would be a tree any kiddo would love.
Sounds like a great day. I love your photos of the early morning.
The feather tree is pretty and so is that pie.
I hope you win the tree!
You are really in the Christmas spirit! I love the Festival of Trees. We have the same kind of festival here, and it benefits a children's hospital. We haven't gone to it for years, but I would like to go again. Your pies look delicious. So glad you are enjoying the season! Have a good week!
Love all your decorations. A tree topper collection. How unique. And of course I adore your feather tree.
I have never had a mincemeat pie nor a good piece of fruitcake.
Let us know if you won a🎄!
