Caution Long Winter Ahead

A very cold full moon. We are 14 F and falling with a very brisk wind.
I have been very busy baking for two cookie walks this weekend.
Believe it or not I rescued this roses still going after all this cold weather!
Still no replacement coffee pot so I dug out out our old percolator, good coffee!
I got some goodies at the thrift store in our senior center. A beautiful boiled wool hat! I have been looking for one.
I got 8 cake plates and bowls at our dump free store. Made in England I love the design.

My little cupboard with the wooden hinges, filled with vintage santas and reindeer.
Some of my favorites..
HO ho ho!
We live in the woods,no street lights. This is the moon lighting up our yard. The birch glow in this light.
         **********
We are tucked in all warm and cozy. We are very thankful that the oil man braved our steep snowy driveway today. We are all set for awhile now. Plus we have the wood stove going.
      Have a wonderful weekend!

Your night sky looks much like mine. It’s so light out there one could easily navigate without the aid of a flashlight. I had plans to go to the botanical gardens here for a moonlight walk but it was canceled because of the cold. We’re at -6ΒΊ. :-( Love all the Santas and vintage deer in your Santa cupboard. I’m slowly pulling things out. As always, love your great thrifty finds. That English transferware is beautiful! And your cookies!! Are those snickerdoodles next to the thumbprints?!! Yum!

It sounds cozy. We are having the cold, snow and wind combination. Bitterly cold but cozy inside too.

Good evening, stay warm! I miss not having a working woodstove-I liked cooking on top of them too. we have been soooo cold here too-lots of wind last night. we have been in the low 20s at night but warms up just enough to melt off the ice and snow during the day.
Great finds!! The full bright moon is glorious here too .
Hugs Kathy

It looks like a colder winter for all of us. I love all your thrift finds, wish we had goodies in ours, like that.

The cake plates are so pretty. Your night sky pic looks like our morning pic here right now. We have no street lights either. So pretty with the moon shining on the snow. The thing is it is only 5 degrees out right now. Brrr. Your cookies look yummy too. Janice

Your cookies look very yummy! We use that same percolator every day for coffee and have for years : ). Clouds covered our southern sky so we didn't get to see the moon...but we have snow!

It was a cold one last night. I'm taking some donations to Listen in Lebanon this morning. I won't go in the store because I'd be tempted to look for Santas. I like how you have yours displayed.

We live on the edge of the woods and the moon last night was soooo nice. Have you tried pour over coffee? Might not like it but worth a shot. Great job on the cookies! As for winter, it's been winter here for a bit and I do say, I love it. I love the early dark nights and the sunny snow days!

Better wrap up good as it's gonna be a cold cookie walk. Yes, you have the same moon and me and it looks like that outside my wooded area.

Lovely Santas and reindeer…perfect for the darling cabinet! The transfer ware is just beautiful, a great find…you will surely enjoy using it! Your cookies look delicious and as for the coffee, I use cream…which I know is bad for you but I think I like the cream better than the actual coffee…love the old percolator!
Happy weekend, Virginia
