And I think that makes me Mrs. Santa by proxy.
I think this is maybe the 3rd selfie I have ever taken lol.
My three favorite people our grand, our daughter, and our son in law. Sweet B had her high school friends there and they all had a picture with Santa so sweet.
Christmas day was sunny and very windy and cold.
Christmas day was sunny and very windy and cold.
We went to my daughter's and celebrated with my son in law's family also. There was a bet made last year and my son in law's sister lost so expensive champagne it was! We all got a taste what a luxury!
My Son in Law's father cooks an amazing rib roast with all the fixings. I brought home leftovers and the bones. Today I put the bones in the crockpot made stock and a beautiful beef stew.
Earlier in the week I made French butter. It is a bit of a process, but it is delicious. With the buttermilk left over I made biscuits to go with my stew. It is a perfect night for stew the temps never got above the single digits today. The woodstove is humming along in the basement; we are tucked in, well fed and cozy. My blessings are many.
And Santa well he is very very tired.
We have Miss kora for a few days while her family goes on a little birthday trip for my grand who is turning 15!!!! We were watching the sun rise and deciding if going outside at 1 degree was a good idea. No but a dogs gotta go.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday just the way you like it. We are very cold and a bit of snow coming in again tonight.

Grace & Peace,

All sounds wonderful! we have been spoiled this week with warm weather-but getting the bitter cold soon for several days
Merry Christmas
Looks like fun was had by all. The beef stew looks amazing!
It looks like you and your husband and family really had a lovely Christmas. The homemade stew and biscuits looked delicous tooπ
Nothing better in the winter than homemade soups and stews!!!!
Once I had a bottle of Dom Perignon and it was delish. I did not have to pay for it either and I could not really afford it at the time either, but it was great. Santa looked wonderful and so did Mrs Santa. Glad you were able to spend time with your family. Wonderful memories were surely made. Janice
Sounds like a nice celebration despite your early doldrums about the holiday. We too are dog sitting. She's 3x a day walk needed. Dan is doing morning and night and I'm doing lunch time. I also have to care for the chickens and rabbit every afternoon! The bonus is lots of eggs. 5 on the first day so far.
That had to be quite a bet! That's some serious champagne! Your husband is a perfect Santa and it looks like you had the most fun time. That's the way it should be, with people you love. Merry New Year to you!
Time with family making memories is precious!
And what a beautiful Mrs. Claus you make! As beautiful - and photogenic - as you are, you should definitely be taking selfies more often. It sounds and looks like your Christmas celebrations were wonderful. Your stew with the leftovers looks amazing. But....inquiring minds want to know...what was the bet that was lost?? ;-)
Love the selfie!! Looks like everyone enjoyed the day...
Yummy stew!!
hugs
Donna
How cool that he played Santa and a hotel room sounds fun.
You are so pretty. Red suits you well.
Food and drink looks good. And even though I’m allergic to dairy, I have made butter for Tim and it’s the best. Really fun to make. Add it to homemade bread and the simple joy, is perfection. I like a high fat content as well with regard to butters.
It’s gets pretty cold here on the hill and our old little dog some days was like, nope, I’ll hold it. So funny.
Looks like a wonderful time you had. Here’s a happy healthy 2026.
Cheers, Ivy.
Fun times and cherished memories! That’s the way Christmas should be. Great pictures. You and Mr. Claus make a very good-looking couple!
i LOVED this post, i really enjoyed putting a face to the name!! your husband made a great santa, he really looked the part!! that meal/stew looks so delicious, we have been eating a lot of leftovers but they have not been awesome!! i am happy you had such a wonderful christmas...it has been very cold here, but it is supposed to be 51, that will feel a bit better!! your biscuits look really good, i will be attempting to make them again, i hope the outcome is better this time!! happy 2026!!
Despite your previous misgivings about the holiday, it looks like you and your family enjoyed a wonderful celebration and with Santa as well! Sending our best wishes to you and your tired Santa for a Happy 2026.
A wonderful time was had by all - yay! Oh that stew looks amazing. Why have I never thought to make beef broth - thank you for the inspiration. Have a great New Year!
Happy New Year Cathy! Looks like it was a perfect Christmas! Here's to a good 2026 blog year!
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year, Cathy! Here's to fun new adventures.
How wonderful your husband was Santa for the kids. I bet he was pooped at the end of the day. I used to take pictures of the kids with Santa with about 500 children at a fundraiser, and it was such a joy. Love that picture of your dog looking out the window to the snow. Wow, you made French butter! And your beef stew looks delicious. The butter sounds perfect for biscuits with your stew. That's a cute selfie of you. I don't take them often either; I leave it up to my daughters haha. Your snow pics are beautiful.
