I have had this book in mid-read for a couple of months.
I have had some eye issues, and it made it difficult to read.
I am on a new eye med, and I need new glasses. But I get to the last 5 chapters yesterday and realized I have read this book before!!!
UGG!
I picked this embroidery pattern up a while ago, so I decided to transfer it to some fabric I had. As you can see there is a lot to transfer. I was given a transfer pen as I have never done this before.
One end is water soluble the other end (that I did not know) was air soluble. You can guess which one I used. So right before my eyes it was all disappearing!!
I give up!
This plant was given to me when I retired this is the 3rd summer I have had it. I winter it over and by the time it goes outside for the summer I think this is it. It looks dead but voila back it comes!

The ricotta appetizer I posted I wanted to reply to some people who have no reply emails.
I whip the whole milk (name brand) ricotta with an electric mixer until it is smooth and light. No need to add anything at this point.
If you want to flavor it add whatever herbs or flavors you would like. While whipping the ricotta I roasted some tomatoes I added onions and garlic put olive oil on them and balsamic vinegar. (you can put whatever you want on the ricotta olives, artichokes, etc etc)
I spread the ricotta on a plate drizzled the juice from the roasted tomatoes then put the tomatoes all-round the outside edge.
Dig in with some nice bread or crackers.
I hope that answers everyone's questions.

Family BBQ this weekend I am looking forward to seeing everyone.
Stay Cool!

Last glasses were just after my double cataract surgery and that has been years ago. Each exam after my eyes haven't changed enough to need new glasses. BUT, lately have noticed my lower lens for reading isn't working for me and really need to take the glasses off to see TV clearly. Enough already!!! I'm getting new glasses after my next appointment next month.
OooHHH! I love that Halloween embroidery pattern! Bummer about using the wrong end of the transfer pen. Your Hibiscus is so pretty. Since I don't have a proper place to winter things over, I don't...but I love Hibiscus so plant hardy ones. This was a rough winter for them though and I lost 3 of my most favorite ones. :-( Due to my autoimmune issues, I'm on a frequent recall for eye exams and, unfortunately, my prescription changes annually. I barely get through one exam, get a new prescription, and get new glasses and start all over. Eyeglasses aren't covered by my insurance so it's a constant expense.
Good luck getting your glasses - I think they will help a lot. Love the color of that flower.
I loved the Maisie series -- I've read them all and adore them. I hope you continue on! They get better and better but the first really sets the stage and characters. That dip -- sounds to die for!
I've done that with a book before too - so frustrating!
I'm sorry about your eye issues. I'm having to take my glasses off to see close things lately.
Your ricotta recipe sounds good!
Have fun at the BBQ.
I am getting new glasses because my old ones don't work very well. I don't like progressives at all. The last prescription I got was all wrong. Like Mari, I usually take my glasses off to read. I've read that book, and while I liked it, I don't think it was good enough to read it twice. The BBQ sounds fun. Enjoy! See you again soon!
I have a no reply email now, or should. I haven't had email in months. Love the flower, very pretty. Do you like being retired? Do you ever miss working out of the home? I could stay at home and work. I like that a lot.
I have done the same with books too. The list I keep is often incomplete.
While I haven’t found myself re-reading a book, the same has happened for movies when I get about half way through. By that time, I usually just continue until the end. I’ve never read any if the Maisie Dobb series.
My hibiscus does exactly that. It looks as if it's done for, just a couple of sticks, well into the summer, then suddenly it bursts out and surprises me.
I sometimes will watch most of a movie to suddenly realize I have already seen it 🤦♀️
I will be happy to get my new glasses script after my last cataract follow up appointment at the end of the month. Putting glasses on and off all day long (and constantly misplacing them) is a royal pain. Hopefully with your new med and new glasses all will be well.
Enjoy your family bbq!
