I got a recall on the battery bracket? on my Toyota. I took it to my nearest dealer. They are the largest in our area. I needed an inspection sticker also, they agreed to do that too.
All of a sudden a man comes to me with a piece of paper and dire news 1200.00 in repairs needed. I decline, take my car a week later to our regular garage. I fess up and tell them what they found. He says leave it I will give it a once over. ( he does all our maintenance on both of our vehicles) after he hands me my keys and says no repairs needed. You got your sticker. Because he is a class act he didn't say much. But that Toyota garage has been texting me daily about the repair. I blocked them! I am beyond mad how many others have they ripped off!?
Now on to something else mad. I was walking up our brick steps and a wasp stung me out of nowhere! Oh did that feel like a hot needle! Husband finds they were building a nest in the stone wall next to our steps. While I hate to kill things they had to go!
And on my walk this morning out comes the bear again in front of me! Now this time he is further away. He never saw me and continued down a neighbors driveway, they have a nice big patch of raspberries.
***********
Husband bought me flowers. I think going away for a few days made him miss me awww.
We are going to the concert on the common tonight if it doesn't rain.

Ouch on that wasp sting! I worry about ground hornets here and look really careful when mowing. I'd be scared silly seeing a bear! How sweet of your hubby to get you flowers. He's a keeper for sure!
Too bad about the Toyota dealer. And good to have a mechanic that tells it like it is.
That wasp sting would have been trouble for me. After getting stung 2x in consecutive years, doctor said I was allergic and needed an EPI pen. I carried it for awhile but it expired and renewing it was too much trouble. Wasps just need to keep their distance.
Oh that is aggravating about your vehicle!!! Did you take it without hubby?
Once upon a time I got new tires with free tire rotation from a national chain. Every time I went I needed some pricey repair. (I always declined.). When DSO went with me, nothing was ever needing repaired. I am thankful I have a local mechanic I trust. Happy it all worked well for you.
Ouch on the wasp sting. And the bear. Oh my!
Sweet hubby ♥️
So you were stung twice, once by the dealer, once by a wasp. At least the wasp is supposed to do that, nothing person. The dealer not so much.
I hate when they do that at the car dealership! It is always good to get a second opinion.
Businesses like that Toyota place that tried to rip you off deserve to be exposed. I hope you tell everyone you know how crooked they are.
Being stung by wasps is no fun at all. Years ago we has wasps in the soffit of our house. We set up the shop vacuum and when the wasps came home at dusk they disappeared into the depths of the vacuum. It was very satisfying to hear the thump as each one was vacuumed up. Needless to say my guys sprayed the bag to make sure they were dead.
I thought 'recalls' were done free, but guess not.
This time of year all ground bees and wasps are very aggressive.
So sad about the car dealership. My son is a mechanic at the largest dealership in the area and so I always run things through him - even though my vehicle is an import that is not serviced anywhere even remotely close. I hate being taken advantage of and it seems so prevalent when one is a woman and alone. Bummer about the wasp sting. I have several different kinds of wasps/hornets here...some (most?) are very docile and won't bother you unless you sit on them or something. I leave them be (they have tons of nests under my eaves) and they leave me be. But, in recent years, some not-so-docile ones have colonized here...and YIKES! they are some kind of nasty! They swarm and chase you and their sting really, really, hurts. Then there are those ground hornets. They are just as bad if not worse. Pretty flowers from hubby!
The Toyota people here are pirates too. No arguments here. Sorry about the wasp!
Wasp stings are painful. I love the flowers your husband gave you. I am not a fan of Toyota or Toyota dealerships and I say this from some negative experiences. We gave up on Toyotas in 2010 and our last two cars have been Hondas. I hope you enjoy the concert and the rest of the week!
That is just totally taking advantage of someone with the car issue. Unfortunately there are more repair shops that do this than you think. Ouch on the wasp sting. I know how painful that can be. I once stepped barefoot on a ground wasp. Yikes on the latest bear encounter. Be safe. Janice
