Heat Is On The Way

Today was a day of rest. I have had a VERY busy week.
Saturday, we had a nice cookout in honor of Sweet B and her cousin.

When we had the gutters installed it caused a big problem with washouts in this garden. What to do?? Finally, I thought of a rain barrel. So, the only thing we had to buy was the piece that connected to the down spout. We have to unhook it when winter comes as it would freeze solid.

When I was in Maine, I bought a small sheet of moss to make a round hanging planter. Today I made it and put a few hens and chicks in it. I have it hanging fingers crossed to see how it does.

Because we are going into the heat I made a large picture of lemonade. I used a mix and then added the juice of one lemon and then cut a lemon up and put it in it made it delicious.

Husband's newest wood project a bud vase. I think it is very sweet.

I pulled some fans out of the attic and found this lamp I had a long time ago. Dusted it off and put it on the porch.

While I was in Maine, we had a discussion on bathrobes.
Dayle and I have them, one for winter and one for summer. The other two do not own one. I find that very interesting. So, Are Dayle and I the different ones or do you wear a bathrobe too?

I have taken a shower and now I am headed to beat my husband at cards lol.

Record breaking heat is on the way for the next 3 days. With very high humidity. We have been rainy and cold so to have this heat now it will be horrid! Plus, I do not like the heat.
Have a great week.

The heat is on already here. still it is 91 and it is 7:45pm. Ugh Great idea to save the water from washing out your plants. I do not wear a bathrobe. Hope you bet your hubby in cards...also that was a sweet vase he made. Janice

Hubby's bud vase is very cool. He is one talented guy!
Hot and humid here in Ohio, too. From chilly to awful almost overnight.
I have a light and a heavy bathrobe, though I rarely use either one of them.
Try to stay cool!!! And beat hubby...lol.

Last week I had to put a blanket on the bed a couple nights. But Friday until now the heat has been turned up way high with no relief in sight. A/C has been coming on when it gets too high inside.

It seems like the heat wave is all over the country. Here in GA and then where my son lives in Ohio!

We went from 40º's to 90º's in a matter of 2 weeks or less? We have had record highs the past 2 days and it's to continue thru tomorrow until the storms come. :-(. Heat indices of 100 - 105º. Seems like Mother Nature forgot where she is. In the wee hours of yesterday morning, I turned on my a/c for the first time when I got up to take some pain meds...and went back to bed. I woke up to heat pouring out and the inside temp at 84º. I shut the system down but it ws too late and it only got hotter. The on-call tech did not get here until close to 5 pm. Thankfully, he finally got things hooked up so at least I have a/c...although the system is still not fixed (now the heat doesn't work apparently). Your husband's latest creation is beautiful - as is your mossy succulent planter. I hope it does well too! Stay cool!

Oh...and in response to your bathrobe question: When I worked, I had 2 robes...one warm winter one and one lighter/shorter one for warmer weather. But, oddly, since I no longer work, I no longer use robes (unless traveling).

We are in for heat this week too - in the 100's with high humidity. Yikes!

Some women don't have bathrobes? I'm surprised. I actually have 4 ( 2 for summer, 1 medium warm and one very cozy)
I hope you can manage to stay cool when the thermometer rises.
