Finally

This group of ladies slippers are in my front yard and they are glorious!!!!

This is a hike I have shown before but it still takes my breath away each time I go there!

My sweet friend and I try to get here each year when the lady slippers are blooming as there are lots along the trail.

I am still walking most days and these were growing in a very neglected area which made it beautiful.

When I saw these all I could think of was Sweet B and how she loves to blow them to make a wish. Lots of wishes there.

My poor hook has been very neglected. I know I should work on my stair risers but I wanted to work on the Acorn Fairy so she is next.
But sadly there hasn't been much time to hook with gardening.

But husband has been very busy. He has been working on these trucks this winter they are all hand made with hundreds and hundreds of small wood bits and pieces. Amazing right?

I have been cleaning out gardens and moving them. These lupin were getting ready to bloom so I didn't move them, I will after they are done blooming.

My iris are looking pretty good.

My one and only yellow iris.

And this sweet girl has a dance recital next weekend
and we can go see it this year!!!!

Please take the time for a little prayer of thanks for those who
gave their lives for our country. No matter where you stand politically we are free because of those who gave all.
God Bless

I have never seen a lady's slipper except in books until now. Thank you for sharing. What an incredible wildflower. All of your flowers are gorgeous, actually, wild and cultivated. Your hiking path is beautiful. Yes, isn't it wonderful to be able to start resuming a "normal" life, the children free to have their lessons and dances and clubs again?!

Thanks for your kind comment, Cathy.

How so lucky you are to have Lady's slippers growing in your own yard. Such a lovely flower. I love your Irises. One of my Iris has bloomed today.

My hook has been neglected also. Life does get busy and it difficult to get back into the routine. I used to love it when we had Rug Hooking Daily as we had such a great time interacting with other rug hookers. I have made so many good friends who still keep in touch. Someday, I dig up my hook. I still have plenty of wool and dye.

Sweet Miss B. sure is getting tall.

Have a safe Memorial Day.
Hugs,
Julia

Amen to your closing comment. What a lovely hike. Your flowers are gorgeous. Wow, both you and your husband are very talented with your crafting. So glad you will be able to see your granddaughter perform in person this year. Have a good week.

The lady slippers are so sweet. I have never seen one.
Hubby's projects are quite incredible. A labor of love for sure.
Yes, we are free because of those who have defended this great Land of ours.
May God bless the families of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
May God bless our soldiers.
May God bless America.

Wow, your husband is quite the skilled wooden toy maker. Your flowers are beautiful and love your new rug. Guess that will go in young B's room.

Beautiful, beautiful!! You are right....that view is breath-taking and will never get old to us either! Your lady slippers are GORGEOUS! I have been hunting for years for one! I know they are hardy here but, for some reason, you don't see them in any of our nurseries. I am not certain I would have the right place for it either as I know they can be quite particular. (It's always amazed me how they thrive in the wild). Your husband in amazingly talented! Wow! Is that a kit or does he actually cut all those little pieces as well? Acorn Fairy....that looks and sounds fun. Well said about this somber holiday. ~Robin~

Wow! Those wooden toys are awesome! :-) Lovely acorn fairy too... the time to be outdoors is now, so don't fret about not hooking. Pretty soon it will be too hot and humid to be outdoors.... then we'll hook in the air conditioning! :-)

Lady slippers are such beautiful and delicate looking blooms and I have only seen them a handful of times due to not getting out for a walk when they are in bloom. Your husband wooden construction vehicles are amazing! How nice that you have beautiful flowers to enjoy and the recital should be even more treasured this year.
