Busy Beaver

Daisy is almost done with the binding.

A friend and I went for a hike today. It is a new place for us.
This pond almost lake is thanks to some busy beavers!

Crazy smart engineering!

It wasn't a long or hard hike but perfect for us today.

With a bit of a view.

This tree that was still standing had a hole completely through it!
It looks like it has been that way for some time.

Husband and his brother had a booth to sell their wares this weekend.
It was a big crowd and ready to buy so they did well.
It was nice having them here with us for the weekend and of course we ate very well.

I am going to take tomorrow to try and get some flowers in and the few veggies we do. But sadly the black flies are here so I am not sure how long I will be able to stand it.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

I have heard of those black flies! My husband used to have an island in the Boundary Waters with Canada and he said up there, two seasons are Black Flies and Mosquitoes! I am happy to hear of the successful sale and the good eating!

Here it's the mosquitos. Occasionally I have to deal with a few black flies but not at this time of year. Daisey looks great!

I hope the weather improved enough (and the black flies left you alone!) to get some planting done.
Daisy is lookin' good. It was a fun rug to hook!

You got that rug done in a hurry. It looks great.

The black flies are out here already and I had no fly spray so I poured some Downy fabric softener on a cloth and attached it to the back of my shirt and they didn't bother me after that. It looks like they can't stand the smell of it.

I worked in the garden till 9:00pm this evening and I heard the peeping tadpoles. The mosquitoes will be next.

Take care and keep on hiking. You must be in good shape.
Hugs,
Julia

The Beavers aren't the only ones busy! Daisy looks adorable and a hike is a perfect day. Sorry about those nasty flies!

That looks like a beautiful place to hike. I have seen a few dams on the rivers, but no beaver sightings, still hoping I will catch them out someday. I do love that rug, getting tempted to hook again, still have some to fix and bind.
