Five Pounds Of Pumpkin Spice!

Today's rain is taking the last of our fall leaves off so I was glad to get this shot out our window yesterday.

We have the fireplace burning and keeping us cozy on this rainy chilly day.

We are all set for Halloween we will trick or treat with Sweet B on Thursday. I know we don't have many years left of trick or treating with her so we want to enjoy each one!

I made a small pot of french onion soup. I loved it husband not so much.

Wed in the dark (4am)and pouring rain we headed for husband's yearly appointment in Boston. What is normally a 2 hour drive became a 3 hours drive. Ugg We always go in in rush hour traffic this doc backs up quick and later in the day you may have to wait a long time to see him. So we take the first appointment. All was good and felt that his issues in the past month were being well taken care of but we have to check in with him if any other issues arises.

This November it will be 8 years since his transplant.
We feel so blessed and thankful.

I am trying to use up the wool that I have so I am dying.
I am not good at it and I do not dye for a certain thing as that never works for me but to dye for colors I use a lot works. The before did not work in anything the after is more green than brown but much more usable. I purchased a hot plate at the Family Dollar for 10.00 it works great and I am dying on my porch keeps the mess out of the house. Not sure I will do that this winter but for now it is great.

It is pumpkin spice season and I love it all!!! I usually use some half and half in my coffee and no sugar. But pumpkin spice creamer is on the market and I can not get enough of it! I stepped on the scale and yikes it is 5 lbs worth of creamer. I also have not been walking as much lately but the creamer has to go!!! Ok after I finish this bottle.....sigh no will power when it comes to that.
Have a great week.

Oh, I understand those 5 pounds. Mine is more 7-8 and I am not happy but have not done a darn thing about it...sigh. Maybe tomorrow.
I'm sure the ride in to Boston was god awful, but a good check up was worth it. I can't believe it's been eight years!!! Hugs to you and hubby.
So you just put the pot on the hot plate and it works ok? I may have to check that out. Your wool came out great.

Hi Cathy,
Love your picture of the leaf colors before the rains came!! It sure doesn't take them long to totally wipe the trees out, does it?
Your fire looks lovely and I sure do miss having a fireplace, but we sure don't need one today with 80 degrees!
So glad to hear your hubby is doing well and you were able to get your appointment! Hope he continues to stay well and healthy!
Enjoy your trick or treating with Miss B and I know she will love it that you can spend time with her!!
This is the time of year when I CRAVE certain things......ALL NOT GOOD FOR ME!!!! I feel your pain!!
Hope you can finish up that creamer QUICK!!!
Take care and enjoy your week!
Heart Hugs~

Oh my but I totally get the weight gain. Since not having my Ben to walk I've also put on weight. Now that winter is looming and a rug camp next week the scales will be even higher.

Like you I get dyeing success only with those tried and true recipes which I've used over and over. But think there are only 3 recipes like that. Otherwise the dyeing process goes in a section to be over dyed again. Just had one of those which I'll post tomorrow.

I can almost smell your pumpkin spice creamer! I must give it a try! What a beautiful view you have had through that special window! This beautiful time of year just doesn't last long enough. There's always another thing to be thankful for.... even if it is at the end of a long, hard drive.

Cathy, I'm so glad your husband is doing so well. I can't believe t's already been 8 years.
A three-hour drive in the rain doesn't sound like much fun especially so early in the morning but I'm glad it's done for a while...
Sorry for the 5pounds of pumpkin spice.lol... I had to laugh out loud when I read the rest. I thought that 5 pounds of pumpkin spice was a bit much, for two people. lol... I've never tried the pumpkin spice creamer and I better not even try it.

I've put on 7 pounds since I stopped working almost a year ago but I'm not complaining. At least, my bones don't pierce through the seat anymore. lol...

Your dyed wool turned out nicely. I love the mottled colors. I love how it looks once hooked.

Happy trick and treating with lovely Miss B.

So glad hubby is doing good! I know I have put on pounds with Tim Horton's Pumpkin Spice Iced Capps. They are my downfall. Love your fireplace and the view outside your home. Janice
