Another Week Another Hike

First I would like to honor those who served and serve this country and those that sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
We may have our issues but we are truly a great country!

I spent the better part of the weekend transplanting perennials and getting ready for memorial day.

We are finally getting porch sitting weather and I am happy to say we have enjoyed every minute of it!!

My sweet friend and I hiked Skye Pond. I have shown you this hike before but it was easily accomplished after work and a big pay off for the view.

It was a beautiful day and you could see forever. But the bugs oh the bugs they were horrible. The minute we stopped they swarmed us.

I am not great on heights and I always get a bit of vertigo if I am too steep so I have to step back. Beautiful all the same.

There is the feeling of summer in the air. Our days are longer, we have already had 2 thunder storms, and everything is getting so beautiful. Sometimes in the long winter I wonder why we continue to live here but when spring truly comes around I know why ahhh. I guess we just appreciate it more maybe.

We are back from a family cookout and the birds have said their finial good night and it is quiet, so quiet. I am sad to say no peepers tonight.
I will sit on the porch for awhile longer and enjoy the silence, I am off to work tomorrow.
Have a wonderful week.

I often wonder why we put up with the snow in Winter but it's not as harsh as your winters and like you we look forward to Spring, Summer, and then my favorite...Fall. So I'll put up with the white stuff I guess! Your hike looked amazing and what a view! I'm not good with heights either! But sometimes you just have to do it! I love your porch and your screen door looks like one I'm thinking of getting for our front and back doors. Have a good Memorial Day but you said you have to work so I hope it's a good day for you.

Your porch is looking so inviting and patriotic. I would love to sit there sipping a glass of wine on a quiet evening and have a little chat. I'm so glad winter is just a memory now but too. I wonder why we live here since we had two huge floods but as soon as the cleanup is done and I see the green grass growing and the flowers blooming, I kind of forget about how bad it was.

The view at the pond is amazing. I love walking by the river. It's so peaceful and healing.
Sorry, you had to work today on Remembrance Day. I hope that you have a great week.
Hugs, Julia

It is 8pm and the birds are still chirping here. Once they go to bed, the frogs and crickets come out. Love it all! Your hike looks like beautiful trek. Janice

Hi Cathy,
Such beautiful photos and I second your comments on Memorial Day!! We truly have MUCH to be thankful for and are blessed to live in this country!!
I have problems with motion sickness and would feel the same about heights!! Loved the view from my computer screen!!! We have so many birds who are always singing here in AZ and I really love it when I can leave the windows open! Sadly, that won't be possible soon as the HEAT of summer is coming and the AC will be on 24/7!! I will enjoy their songs now while I can!!
Hope you have a wonderful week!!
Heart Hugs~
