Wishing Life Away

I think if any of us are parents we have heard our kids say
"I wish I was older!" My answer was always don't wish your life away you will look back on this time and remember how wonderful it was.

Since then my adult daughter has said "You were so right."
I try to live in the here and now, but I am guilty of wishing life away.
When will spring come???

When can I retire? I am completely burned out of my job for lots of reasons but I am a 60 plus woman who needs the insurance they offer, Or I would move on! And when I think of the few more years I have to work to get medicare I get a lump in my stomach.

I like being home, I love walking the dirt road that runs behind our property. Sitting on my porch hooking a rug, or working in the gardens.
I have wonderful friends and life is calling, but still I work.

I have had a couple of health blips lately nothing I can't control.
But time marches on and I hope the next few years pass quickly for me.
This cemetery is mostly mid 1700's to late 1800's most died young and lived a hard life I imagine, so I will stop complaining and enjoy today.

Husband's operation went well they were not able to accomplish everything they wanted to with this surgery but I think it will be OK.
I stayed home a few days to be with him, the weather has been wonderful and I have enjoyed my time here with him.
Thank you so much for the prayers and good wishes I am sure they helped.

Have a great weekend!

Although a bit morbid would love to love to stroll an early cemetery as old as that one. Old headstones are so nice to look at. Nowadays its just a marble slab placed on graves over here. So glad hubbys surgery went ok. I wish I could retire and work our store, but I'm the one who carries the insurance as well. I will be 60 in December and looking forward to retirement in a few years myself. Hope you have an awesome Mother's Day! Janice

I'm glad your husband's surgery went well, hope they can find a way to do whatever else is needed.

Your area looks like such a nice place to walk. We used to have areas to walk, then my neighbor built a house in the back fields, so now I have no place to walk from here, hate walking on the road. I try to live in the moment, tomorrow is not promised, but I tend to wish the week away and look forward to my weekends, lol.

Life can be a challenge for sure - try not to wish it away even though the passing of time looks like better things will come your way! Hang in there sweet friend-I still work too and understand the feelings you are having! ♥

I can understand wishing you could retire now. I've been wanting to retire for quite a while and although we have reduced our herd, still no serious buyers. We sold one cow the other day. Hopefully now that summer approaches, we will be able to sell the herd.

I try to live in the moment but like you, I love working in the garden and putter around the house and wishing for retirement.

I'm hoping that the doctors will be able to fix your husband. Sorry, I didn't know he needed surgery. I've been without internet, power, and water for so long it seems. I'm working on cleanup after the long terrible flood. It will take some time.

Have a great weekend my sweet friend.
Hugs and prayers, Julia

That's what I try to do...live in the here and now. Just planning and thinking ahead sometimes gives me so much anxiety. Makes me think of the saying, "Yard by yard life is hard but inch by inch it's a cinch." I don't think of it as a cinch but just easier to deal with inch by inch. Glad your hubby's surgery went ok!
