Happy July

This rug I hooked some years ago. It has several mistakes but I still love it.

We had some home time so we kayaked a bit it had been a while
but the old body felt good after.

We saw loons, loons that were still sitting on their nests
and not happy to have us near.

We also got a chance to see the fireworks near by.

We got some time with this little firecracker.

As most of you know I have had an issue with sleeping it is a bit better but not by leaps and bounds. I pulled out my hooking I am taking a few minutes before bed to hook while sitting on our porch. It will hopefully help me relax and get ready to sleep.

My lavender is in bloom so I made a lavender wand to go in my wool to keep the bugs away. I laid one on my pillow it is suppose to help you sleep.

I hope you are all enjoying the long days. We have had some wild weather we had several tornado warnings in the same day which we never get so it was very nerve wracking. We had flooding rain
Which caused all kinds of issues. But the sun came out and was lovely for the 4th.

Have a Great week!

That is one cute firecracker! Tart Cherry Juice...I drink a small glass before I sit down to decompress at night. It helps with sleep and arthritis pain. It's expensive and doesn't taste too good...they're not kidding about "tart". I buy Knudsen organic...about $8.99 at Whole Foods, but I think a lot of markets carry it and it might be less. Try a bottle, it can't hurt and if it helps it's worth the $$$. Good luck! Love that loon rug!

I know I always feel better when I am kayaking.
Looks like you had a nice holiday weekend.
I actually read that pineapple sage has a lot of health benefits and since I have a plant, tried it.
Taste horrible but I noticed I felt so much calmer afterwards, definitely worked on my nerves.

What a smorgasbord of entertainment on your blog today..... rug show, fireworks and the sweet smell of lavender. Oh, and a Patriotic Princess to boot.

That is neat how you made that lavender wand. Very pretty and practical. My lavender died so I use lavender oil.
I woke up last night and then couldn't get back to sleep for a few hours. I'm glad you had a great 4th of July... Your little firecracker looks so patriotic in her fine dress. I love the call of the loon. So haunting.

Take care and have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Julia

I had heard lavender is good for relaxing, so I put some in our bedroom for Bob...needless to say it did not work for him. Love your hooked rug, and I think it is lovely even if you say there are mistakes in it...could not find any. Sounds like you had a grand time and so glad I was not around when the storms came in. I so hate storms. Suppose to get some after midnight tonight..not looking forward to it. Janice

What a cutie pie, I love her little outfit! I never learned to make lavender wands. I need to grow some so I could learn. I am glad you are sleeping better.
I am currently working on that rug by Maggie. The top one. Yours looks wonderful. I am enjoying hooking it. Have a wonderful weekend.

Sometimes sleep issues are from a nutritional deficiency. You might want to research this on the internet a bit. My personal experience has been that taking a magnesium, calcium, potassium supplement has helped... my main deficiency was magnesium. But, again... please research supplements thoroughly and know what's right/wrong in your particular situation. I'm just trying to offer a bit of help... Stay healthy! :-)

Cathy, Thanks so much for your kind message on my blog post. I went back and read your posts about your husband's illness. We went through much the same things, and I am glad to know the two of you are on the other side now! I don't know if our future holds all the traveling we would like to do, but it is good to dream! Thanks for continuing to read my posts, as far and few between as they are. Sarah

I would love to hear the loons on the lake..one day I'll make it out East for that experience. I think Miss B looks adorable in her patriotic attire! Glad it was good weather for the 4th. Can't believe how fast this summer is going. Enjoy your week! P.S...love all your hooked rugs! Beautiful!
