We have had a mild winter but never underestimate Mother Nature.
We went into the cold and I mean cold our Mt Washington broke a record for that day -40 nope not with wind chill that is air temp.
We were -18 brrrrrr but with the wood stove husband kept it like Calcutta in the summer (ok family joke he hates the cold more than anyone I know)
So I made some bread yumm
And because my stomach has decided to get in a mess with the same issue I had in November. Not catchy but very bad meds I took to bed and waited out the cold and slept more than I have slept in a long time. (yes snoopy's valentine on my daughter's old college tv)
And yes I was toasty warm we have a fireplace in our bedroom that gets very little use. But when it does how I love it.
I hope you are warmer and healthier than we are.

Your bread looks delicious. While I try to resist carbs (sugar and triglycerides) it is something I used to enjoy and would love a hunk of it with a hunk of cheese...lol and then there's that fat with the cheese. Oh my, all things I truly enjoyed.
This cold is bone chilling, too much for me, so hibernating for now, lol.
Wish we had a fireplace, loved having one when I was younger.
I hope you feel better soon, I am trying to avoid getting anything, way too many things going around this year.
Debbie
Yes, baby it is cold outside!!!! How lucky to have a fireplace in the bedroom, toasty indeed.Blessings Francine.
*****not healthier by much down here...I have a broken foot and Barbara has a broken
wrist. they didn't happen at the same time...so I can use the steering wheel and
she can use the pedals...we can't go very far. miss driving...
oh well...stay warm and healthy to the two of you and family! tom
All this cold will soon be a thing of the past but -40°F. is equal to -40°C and Baby that's cold in any language.
Your bread is looking so good. I would spread a thick slice with butter with a cup of hot tea. I hope you're feeling better soon.
Take care and be good to yourself. The bed looks cosy with a fireplace.
Hugs,
JB
You were smart to take it easy and stay warm. We had some pretty chilly temps too but not -40..that was last year! We stayed home Saturday and did around the house things and let our wood furnace do it's magic. Back to more normal temps this week although we did get about 4in. of snow last night. I guess February will make up for all the lost winter days of December and January! Take care and I hope you're feeling better!
We've had the below zero's too. Supposed to warm up for the weekend. Hope your feeling better. The fire looks wonderful to cozy up too. Warm Blessings!~Amy
Hope you are feeling better. I'm on antibiotics and now just feel like I have the crud. Not sick enough not to go to work but absolutely no ambition. I don't like that feeling.
Your hubby and I would get along great. I bet I hate winter as much as he does!
Delightful fireplace in the bedroom.
Hugs :)

All that Polar Vortex. Cold sounds misserable, but a fireplace n your bedroom sounds the perfect place to spend time during the winter. Hope you're soon feeling better, Friend,
I love the fire place looks so warm and cozy, have never had a real fire, in fact last year was the first year I ever used a heater, love the cold
I am sorry your not feeling better. It has been a sick February for my family but I have so far not caught anything. Your bread looked yummy.hugs cheri
