Tomatoes By The Boat Load

Our tomatoes are starting to ripen by the boat load. I am on my own tonight
so it is a grilled sharp cheddar, tomato, and with our fresh basil. OHHH I
am so happy. I have a mike's hard lemonade to go with it perfect ahhhh.

Here are the DNA boys, I love this picture! My brother in law and sister in law came Sat
night to stay over. We went for a paddle, had grilled steak, and played some whist. Of course the DNA boys won. They tell us they are now one.

This is all I have from the thrift store. I would like to can some of my
tomatoes and make some apple butter and I thought this may come in handy.
I did pass up a very new pair of ski boots at the dump in the original box.
Since I don't ski and my daughter at this point very little
I left them for a skier to find.
***
My sister in law (husband's sister) wants to go yard sailing with me this weekend.
So she is coming on Friday to stay over so we can get an early start.
I am looking for modern canning things to help out with the cost of canning.
***
The weather is so amazing right now 80's during the day not a bit of humidity in sight.
nights get to be 50's so nice sleeping with the peepers in full voice.
I have been hooking if you can believe it.
But the shadows are getting long and I see more and more leaves changing.
I am so not ready to let go of this very humid summer yet.

Looks yummo.
I love tomato sandwhiches.
Grilled or just toasted with mayo.
Have a great day

Our tomatoes are on the wane at this point. They were a bit less than outstanding this year.:( I'm glad to hear yours are doing well now. We have given up the canning - I think - so we should meet half way, and I'll share what we have with you.:)

My thoughts and prayers for your husband!

Your tomato sandwich looks wonderful. I should make one just for me as Lou doesn't like tomatoes. Oh what he's missing!

Cathy, I love Yoga for Yankee. Just too funny.

That sandwich looks so yummy. My tomatoes are ripening here too and that's what I had for supper this evening. I was too tired to grill it so I toasted it. I don't think that i'll bother with canning this year as I have one cherry tomato plant, one Roma tomato plant and one regular tomato plant. I always give some away.

Good luck with you canning. JB

I've gotten a few tomatoes out from the garden but the rest are waiting until I'm really busy then they will all ripen together and make me cry...your sandwich looks amazing! Yum! Cute pic of the boys on the water. That's one for the Christmas card! Have a good week and enjoy your weather. We're having much of the same. I had to wear a sweatshirt to work! Love it!

Your supper (& lemonade - wink, wink) sounds so yummy. Wish I could drop by to eat and hook!
Hugs :)

I am going to make that sandwich for lunch tomorrow, yummy. I hope to barter eggs in exchange for my dear friend's homemade tomato sauce. I think I am getting the better end of the deal, I have made tomato sauce before and it is a lot of work! These late summer days have been just glorious. 8:09 and it is pitch black! Glad to read everyone is doing so well. Hugs, Julie.
