A Perfect Day

I went thrifting today! I went to a thrift shop I love but because of work rarely get there.
I got 2 rolls of crape paper streamers.
This is much smaller than it looks in the picture, but I am a sucker for a footed dish.
It makes everything so elegant.

assorted vintage wrapping paper

And be still my heart this tree. I have a tree made the same way that is 27 years old.
My tree is falling apart and needs to go, I have hunted and hunted for something like it but no luck or I would pay hundreds of dollars for it. For 6.00 it is wonderful and looks like it was hardly used.
When this tree is together and decorated you would never know it was a fake tree This is my tree all set up .
I know I know you are sick of Christmas.

This months country garden is a must buy. This is just one articles that interested me.
I am thinking I may find one of those wheelbarrows at the dump this year.
There are many more articles you will love, antique bee skep, living centerpieces, etc

A few months ago I joined paperbackswap.com
I thought it would be a great way to swap out some of my books.
I have gotten these in the swap but on a whole I am a bit disappointed. not much in the way for
decorating and DIY books.

And what would a post be without a dump find.
she is so sweet she was sitting on the shelf just waiting for me at the dump.

We were up early and into Boston to the Dr. David got a very good report, we go back in 2 weeks for a few tests to see just how he really is doing. I met up with my sweet friend Cathy. We had tea and a little conversation. In all I would say a perfect day. How was your day?
I am joining the thrifty groove to show off my finds.
Is this the party to whom I am speaking?

You are a thrifting master. I love the glass dishes myself. I keep/kept jewelry in them. Super news from the doctor's. I hope David is feeling better each and everyday.
Hugs,
Courtney

Cathy, I'm happy that David got another good report.
I know how important that news is for both of you.

I love your vintage snowman (woman) angel and your Valentine crepe streamers. It's a good feeling coming home with nice find. It always feels like Christmas... Hugs. JB

That branch looks just like the tree I have--with color coded branches to go in the color coded slots on the trunk. I wished you lived closer--I would give it to you as I can't put it up anymore.

Oh, let's hear it for a perfect day! Truly the good medical report for David bathes everything in a glow of joy. The glass is definitely half full, or even more than half, perhaps it even overflows!
I clicked to see your Christmas tree and I really loved it. I don't use tinsel anymore, but I remember it from my childhood. My mother still uses it, and I'm glad she does. I can remember her carefully removing it each year, a few strands at a time to lay gently in a long flat box (almost like you'd put a pair of gloves in, or a man's necktie), to store it away for next year.

Wonderful finds! Isn't it great to get treasures!

Since we live out in the country, we must take our own trash to the dump. I was surprised to find a very nice "dump" here in this large county of Oregon but definitely without a heated room where people could leave good finds! What a great idea and you're always finding super things!

I meant to add that I'm so glad to hear about the great report!

I came over to see how it was going, and got caught up on all your posts. I am so glad dh got a good report, I am keeping him in my prayers.
Love your dump finds, and that you found a tree you like. I am in the market for one too, but like you, won't pay a lot for something that looks so fake. Maybe this will be my lucky year!

How is that Irish Country book? I oit in your pile of things you didn't like, lol!
Stop by when you can.
