I Resolve To Drink More....

Water, now what were you thinking? I do not drink enough fluids. I know it will make me feel better and help to keep me feeling full.
I will also read this daily to get inspiration for the day.

And I want to learn to knit more than slippers.
On New Year's day I braved the crowd and went to a knitting store that had 20 percent off the entire store.
I was shocked at what women were lugging out of there. The knitting store is owned by the same people that own keepsake quilting I walked into the quilt store, there was a line that circled the store people waiting for fabric to be cut. I turn tail and ran for the car.

I got the new rug hooking magazine today and it is a perfect night to curl up and look through it.
It is 5 F right now and it is going below zero, our first really cold night of the season.
Tonight I appreciate the warmth of this house.

My car is in the garage the motor for my defroster fan is dead. Not the best time of year to not have a defroster. Again I am thankful it happened at home and not on the way to Boston.
I have tomorrow off no Dr's appointment just a day to myself  I am looking forward to it.

Things turn out best for for people who make the best of the way things turn out.

Well, Cheers! I think drinking more water is what I need to do too. I'm trying hard this year to get healthier and I notice if I get a headache and then just up my fluid intake it's better. I'm not a big pop drinker, but I'm not going to drink that either...and I always drink the diet stuff and that's not good for us either. So good luck with drinking and knitting more!

Water?? Nope, that was not what I was expecting! LOL but I always go to the dark side first. I haven't seen the new rug hooking magazine yet. There is usually only one store in town that carries it. I'll go tomorrow. Good luck with the knitting (and the drinking)

Cathy ~
Enjoy your day tomorrow. I hope you can take a few deep breaths and just relax!
You are ahead of me if you can knit slippers. I've not progressed beyond the basic scarf!
Hugs :)

It's great how you always try to look on the bright side of life.
You just cozy in with your books, and mags, and enjoy your time at home.

I drink a lot of water, just gotta have it! I still have my Simple Abundance book from when they first came out, I love it. I just don't agree with some of her days, religious type, mainly. But there are some very good ideas to be had. I would run for the hills, bargains or not if faced with those types of long lines. I like to take my time and enjoy the craft shops. I hate crowds! Hope you enjoy all you have going on!

Happy New Year Kim. It is C-O-L-D! The girls are enjoying a two heat lamp night in the coop, Winslow Homer will not leave the comfort of the wood stove. I find if I drink room temperature water I tend to get more in me, however, I spend more time in the bathroom! January, the month of healthy beginnings! I hope David continues to improve, hugs, Julie

Hi,
I have one kidney and now having problem with dehydration. I need to always keep hydrated. It's harder than people think to drink enough water to keep healthy. I always have a glass of water in my hand, it seems. It helps with blood pressure and heart palpitations too.I find if I drink a full glass of water before a meal...I don't eat as much.
I think that I have told you that I have that book. I love to read something from it everyday.
Nothing like having a day to yourself to do what you want. Enjoy.

Cathy,
Looks like you're all set for a nice cold winters eve with some good reads. I let my Rug Hooking sub. expire. Looking at yours makes me wish I was still getting it!
Tell David Hi and you enjoy that day off tomorrow!

That's a great quote! Water will wake you up and make you feel better... but it sure won't curb hunger... I drink way more than the recommended 8 glasses a day and I'm always hungry... lol!

I had a goal to learn to cable knit last year...never happened. Hats and scarves are pretty much my limit, although I do have a harder pattern waiting to be tried. Good Luck to you! I hate crowds also, I would have ran!

Cold here...stay warm.

Cute glass! I don't blame you for running, I don't like shopping crowds like that either! Keep warm & enjoy your day off!

I just love those Simple Abundance books. I have read them a couple of times. I don't drink anywhere near enough water. When you teach and can only use the rest room once a day, it can get dicey. So, you don't have liquids...not terribly healthy. Enjoy the book and the magazine...stay warm!
Hugs,
Courtney

It is frigid in Delaware too but at least we don't have lots of snow to deal with as we did this time last year. Saw ice formed on the top of my fish pond.

Enjoy your RHM, I've thumbed thru mine quickly and now time to go back thru and read.

I am also learning to expand my knitting abilities. I've got the stitches down, but understanding pattern directions gives me troubles still, so I have to ask my knitter girlfriend when I'm stumped. I love love love to knit though and want to learn more. I thought I'd like to do rug hooking as well so at a quilt retreat I bought a hook and a mug mat kit to give it a try, I'm not sure it's for me, although I love the hooked projects.
I wish you a good day in spite of your car problems. xo

5 degrees I would curl up in a fetal position
Glad you have the day off tomorrow.
Funny coming over here and seeing the two or three things you listed that I have put down to do this year.
Drink more water, I did a post about Simple Abundance book it is now again on my nightstand and I have told everyone I want to learn how to knit but I don't have a clue where to start. No place here for classes.
Stay warm my friend

I used to receive the catalog from Keepsake Quilting (need to order it again). Oh, how I would love to be able to visit there in person! A line around the store?! That's the hard part about the sales! And I need to drink more WATER also!

I never drink enough water in winter. Thanks for the reminder. I got to get the Rug Hooking Magazine too.
Sorry about your car being in the shop but glad that you have some time off for you to catch up on your reading magazines.

Take care, hugs. JB

I vow to drink more water too ~ but less coffee. I didn't used to be addicted to coffee, but I think I am now.

Big Hugs,
