This stained glass window that I got about 15 years ago at an auction has hung on the inside of my screened porch through all kinds of weather. It is hung by chains. It is a great way to give your porch personality and a little privacy if you need it. This picture makes the window colors look a bit washed out. When the sun shine through it is beautiful
I also have a whirligig I think it is fun and a bit of folk art. All of the the propellers are suppose to turn when the wind blows. It is certainly handmade and it lives on my porch year round also.We had company this weekend and had so much fun. We went to a little pond about 5 minutes from our house and paddled around looking at wildlife and enjoying the peace.
My sister in law and I paddled up to a pair of loons. They were so unconcerned about us they just hung around and let me take pictures of them. They are so big and beautiful and their call is so haunting.
We stayed on the pond until the sun when behind the trees.
It has been warm and beautiful here a bit hotter today but I will take it better than shoveling snow.
The monster in the water in the last post was just a reflection but it looked to me like a dog's face my husband said over my shoulder "were was that picture taken of the crocodile?" So light will play some pretty amazing tricks. I haven't closed with a quote in some time:
If Noah had been truly wise. He would have swatted those two flies.......H.Castle
Goodnight sweet friends

I really love loons. I'm not sure why. Their call is one of my favorite things about visiting my in-laws in MN.
Your stained glass is beautiful. I would love to do the same with an old window but the price is prohibative :o( Your whirlygig sure looks fun to watch! My uncle who lived in Canada made one for us when we visited, it was of Road Runner. We had it for years on our garage roof and I was sad when it finally bit the dust.
Looks like you've had a wonderful weekend Cathy, glad you've enjoyed it so. Hope your week is as good.
Best wishes to you both,
Rose H

That is a beautiful stained glass window-I'll have to show you mine sometime. There's a real story behind it.
The whirlly gig is unusual. Do they work in a breeze? I love folkart pieces. I don't even care if they function anymore.
And my favorite is the loons!
We have them here on the lake too. But I've never gotten close enough to get a good photo.
I added your blog to my blogging sisters sidebar-I hope you don't mind!!
Take care-Kimberly
Beautiful window....just love your porch in your previous posts! It's so cozy and the lake looks so nice and cool! Have a great week :)
Sounds like a perfect way to spend a day relaxing on the water.
Great way to display that stained glass window. Very neat. Bet it is gorgeous as the sun shines through it.
Oh, my friend, you are so fortunate to be able to kayak with the loons. We have a canoe. But, we need to get my poor little Honda repaired to cart it anywhere. This week, I get a new engine! Can't wait. I love your stained glass window and the whirligig. Don't you love that word...whirligig?
Stay cool...heat's a coming!
Hugs,
Courtney
