I worked on my Christmas card basket. I have the sides together, I still need to stitch over the tops and of course I still need the bottom. I would tweak some parts of it next time but I am forging on.
I got some thrifting in today. This little pile was 3.00, I wear an apron every night, the little mold I am going to make a pantry cake, how to at dog trot farm,The ornament is going to be a package tie, the cute silver dish is getting a candle, the little snowman plant pot is getting a boxwood tree that I will make, the little dish with the tree is spode and will be a gift filled with homemade chocolates, and last but not least the photo book is waiting for my grandchild's beautiful pictures.

That pile of cookie cutters is a great find! and an acorn!!! I just purchased one of those vintage Christmas card baskets at an antique sale. I can't believe how time consuming they must be to make.

ps. On one of my button trees I sewed them on, but that got old and so I started to glue gun them on...way easier.
I LOVE those old cookie cutters!! We used similar ones as a kid in our house and they bring back such fond memories!!
Great finds! I'll have to do better at thinking "outside the box" like using a Spode plate (I saw some at Ross the other day) to put cookies or candy on. Thanks for the inspiration!
Those playing card cookie cutters are ones we had in my house as well. My mom used them for Christmas cookies - so they fit in with all the others!
Cathy, your basket is a wonderful idea! I love it. Reminds me of when our kids were young, and we would turn last year's cards into something fun. And one year when we had little money, I crocheted an edge around the pretty covers of smaller cards, and a loop at the top. We hung our paper ornaments on our tree.
