Happy Thanksgiving

These are the pantry cakes that I made last weekend. I think they are so cute. I had more cloves than cinnamon so they are darker than dog trot farm's . I made 1 larger one and then 4 small that I put in a wooden bowl that I have filled with pine cones. I plan on making more for gifts.
I was thinking I have this clay pan why can't I use this to make the next batch??? A yard sale find.

I found these books last weekend. I just love the little book. the illustrations are so wonderful. I know nothing about Joan Walsh Anglund's artwork.
Icey roads this morning let the season begin. I got the new country living magazine today so my plan for thanksgiving is to eat until I almost explode then beach myself on the sofa and read. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone stay safe in your travels. Thank you for all of your comments and welcome to my new follower.

I love the way you decorated your cakes! Nice find on that pan! Lovely books, they remind me of Susan Branch - love her cookbooks!

I did the same thing. I actually prefer the darker look. Yours are primtastic. I used stained cheesecloth but I love the look of the homespun!
Have a wonderful holiday!

The Christmas Joy book is a favorite of mine....I actually have all of Susan Branch's books - her painting journey is an interesting story and her home on Martha's Vineyard is to die for - next time you are in a book store, look through some of them! Happy Thanksgiving!

Cathy, I can't believe you found a Joan Walsh Anglund book. My Mom used to give these to me as a child. She made me a doll to match and I just brought the books and doll down to Florida for the visiting grand kids (I am hoping they will visit). My favorite is "Look out the Window".
