February

Full moon tonight
We were 4 below 0 this morning. I felt my coffee could use some sparkle.
I threw an extra stick of wood on the fire.....
And made some scones. It made the morning a bit more cozy.
I picked up a rotisserie chicken. I rarely buy them but they smelled so good. I made chicken Veggie with noodles. 2 qts for the freezer one for dinner. I added dumplings to dinner and it was perfect.
The snow here is great for cleaning my hooked rugs. I also cleaned a quilt. They all looked and smelled so good after.
I am starting this piece. I will make a pillow out of it after I am done.
My color choices.

I know most of you have been stormy and cold. It has been a brutal winter. Chin up let's hope that rodent doesn't see his shadow.
Have a wonderful week!

The moon was brilliant here too, and the temp was at negative 8. However, we had sunshine today!
Your soup looks very good. I'm thinking you've inspired me to make a pot next week too.
Who knew snow was good for cleaning rugs? Not I!

The moon was gorgeous early this evening!
In the next 10 days we only have one day that may get to 32*. I can’t remember the last year we have been below freezing for so many days.
54 days until spring 🌷

Looks dreadfully cold where you are! The chicken soup looks delicious! I like your latest project, and I love the blue color you are using. I hope things warm up for you. We were in the 50s here in Utah today, with no snow on the ground. We have so far had a snowless winter, and we need some snow for our water supply. Have a good week. See you again soon!

Your coffee looks very decadent. What is the frothy topping?

This time of year is a great time to get projects done. I love how you cleaned the rugs in the snow. I had never heard of that!

Don't ya just love having quarts of soup in the freezer to use later? I sure do. Can't clean my rugs with the snow as it turned into frozen stone and can walk on the top of it and hope to not slip.

Good morning I just woke up to the news earlier saying he did see his shadow-but what does he know? haha
I buy a plain rotissiere chicken once in awhile too and I buy the one that doesn't have all the added salt-at Wal mart-agree makes great soup. Loved your fire photo-we need to get a new chimney pipe here for the woodstove that was here-maybe we can do that this year
take care hugs

-10º here this Monday morning. It's warmed to 20º now. We had our RSV shots at CVS at 10 am. No reaction so far.
I've never heard of cleaning a rug in the snow.
Is the surgery this week? Hope all is well with that for your husband.

We were under cloud cover but the moon still managed to make her presence known. The snow was dazzling. Soup with noodles AND dumplings???! Yes please!!! (Your soup looks delicious...It's been a while since I've made chicken noodle soup...I'll need to put that on my list again. I made chicken and wild rice a few weeks ago but not just regular chicken noodle. Love your new embroidery project - your colors are yummy!

So much snow this year our county is running out of salt for the roads. It snowed again today. Am so over it. Look forward to seeing your stitching. Janice

Your food always looks so yummy! I always get rotisserie chicken at Sam's Club and have a few in my freezer. Sometimes I get a call from church that someone needs a meal brought to them and I like having a chicken that I can either add to or make into something. I never thought of cleaning rugs in the snow. Do you just rub the snow into them? Do they come in the house all wet? I change out my 8x10 rugs for the seasons and that would be a great way to clean them. Usually, I just use my carpet cleaning machine. Like you we've had a ton of snow and cold this winter and I'm looking forward to a nice 40de day that may come next week. Take care Cathy!

Interesting to read about cleaning hooked rugs in the snow. The rotisserie chicken comes in handy and last week I made chicken pot pie, chicken soup and chicken salad from one. Sorry to say that the groundhog did see his shadow.

Wasn't that moon amazing? And that pillow will be just fantastic. The soup looks awfully good -- and it's almost lunchtime!

ooooooh that rodent, we all know how that went!! yummy soup, so perfect right now. i almost always use rotisserie, i think they make the soup devine!! the moon was so beautiful. i watched it from inside, there is too much snow in the bacy yard for me to go out. i have heard my knitting friends talk about snow cleaning their sweaters. something i have never done!!

So much snow, we think its cold with a sea breeze and temps 8C !! Hope all goes well for your husband, what a blessing he has a caring wife making cake that will be ok for him.

It all looks delightful - peaceful - perfect! Can you share your soup recipe please? I bought two rotisserie chickens to make chicken salad and just popped the bones and water in the slow cooker today for broth. And yes - quilts in the snow please tell us how to do it correctly! I have some really old ones I’d love to freshen up but I don’t dare put them in the washer - so afraid they’re too delicate and the colors will run. Thanks!

Great idea to make chicken and noodle soup with the rotisserie chicken at the store. I love those from time to time, by the way. And I just made some gingerbread scones this morning. We are thinking alike. I love your wood and fire photo. And your cup of coffee looks wonderful. No storms here, but Yes, very cold, and we're supposed to get rain soon. Stay warm and cozy.

Great way to clean the rugs. I'm gonna be honest, I enjoyed the winter. We've had snow since right after Halloween and I dunno. I like it. Even more so in the mornings when the world is quiet and the snow is out, yet the winds didn't wake up yet. I love that. That said, I LOOOOVE spring too and am excited for that.
