I made soup and chili yesterday so not much cooking today.
The birds were filling up before the storm started. It has started now and we have seen the town plow go by at least once already.
I had some stale bread ends, so I made a small bread pudding. Very tasty for breakfast.
I had signed up for a hook in in Maine. Well husband had his issue and I was going to drop out.

My daughter and husband really pushed for me to go. So, I went a bit late and came home early. I did get some time for some fun. I was very glad I went. Husband did fine without me for a few days.
I did not get pictures of other rugs I left before the throw down. But this is what I am working on. I will be glad to get this done. It is a pattern by Joanne Page.
While away I did find a thrift store. I found this not sure what it was originally meant for, but it works great with my brushes.
This storm is a long, drawn-out ordeal we are supposed to get snow far into Monday. with 12 to 18 inches. It has been so cold we started at 4 below 0 this morning. I keep hearing fluff factor. Our poor highway crew in this little town is a group of 4, very long hours for them.

We are good tucked in with the woodstove humming and the cupboards full.

We have about a foot of snow so far and its still snowing. I made potato soup yesterday and our wood furnace is also humming along! Glad you were able to go to your hook adventure and hubby was good! Stay safe and warm!
I just checked and see your beloved Patriots won. Congrats.
Happy you were able to get away for a few days!!! Your rug is looking good but much different than your normal style.
We have gotten maybe 6" of snow. Much less than predicted. No complaints from me :-)
Pootling. I love that word!!! A new one for me.
Stay tucked in and enjoy pootling.
I saw the Patriots win!
We've been stormed on all week and now have the extreme cold. Sorry it made its way to you now. We also had chili today.
Glad you made it to the hook in. You need to do that kind of thing for yourself.
It has been snowing all day and still is. Not sure how much we got yet. At least no ice so we have power. We did watch the Pats win and I was thinking about you when they did. Janice
It's always a good thing to be prepared for these winter storms. Keep warm and safe!!
We also had chili today. Congratulations on the Patriot win. I'm glad you got to go and work on a project before you settle in. Hope you don't get too much snow and don't lose power.
i made chii the other day, it was delicious, i just have a pick of it left!! i like the paint brush holder!!
Keep safe and warm.
You are very talented!
Could that item be something for manicures/pedicures? But as you say it works for your brushes. I don't watch sports as there's no man here. And if there was a man in the house who watched sports I'd be hooking instead of watching. Glad you had time with your gal pals. Great you have plenty of 'heat up' meals, sure do love soups and chili.
A wood stove provides such cozy heat. We miss the one we had years ago! We have a propane fireplace but it’s not the same.
I'm glad you are going for it. It's like we talked about before I believe important to you as well to have these things, even when other things aren't so great.
Love that you made food and it sounds delish.
Just made pressure cooker meal for one. Very nice. Tim had to leave today before the sun came up. Burrrr.
Wishing you a better week ahead. Cheers, Ivy.
Wasn't that quite a game the Pats won! It's still snowing here this morning so totals are growing. And it's bitter cold. Thankfully there's no wind so far.
Good day!!! I love a good bread pudding. It has been a long time since I have some. Thanks for sharing yours because it has sparked me to make some!!!!
That rug is fabulous and I'm glad you got to go to Maine. I've never seen a thing like that in the art store but one should! It's perfect for your brushes (much more so than my crystal!) Brilliant!
I hope, by now, the storm has lessened and you've dug yourself (or been) dug out. We only got a dusting of snow but what we got has been blown around causing a lot of drifting. And, of course, we had record-setting cold. Today we finally climbed above 0 but the low will be below of course. At least nowhere near what it was. Glad you got a little play time worked in. I like your fish rug!
Oh my, 4 below is pretty cold. Cooking and baking is always a way to warm the kitchen. That is such a unique gadget that you found at the thrift store. Glad you can use it for your paint brushes. And I really like that bird feeder photo. I always think about the birds and animals living in such cold temps. Hope the remainder of January is pleasant for you.
PS....that is actually a brush rest.
My husband loves feeding the birds. I feel like we are always going to Rural King to buy bird feed. But they are fascinating to watch.
I have a bird feeding station just outside my window and I can spend hours watching them.
Your storms have featured on our UK news ...
Stay safe and warm, soup and chili are great for cooler/cold days.
All the best Jan
