ICY

We got an ice storm..
Which knocked out power to our neighborhood for most of the day.
Several of us checked on those that had no generators and offered warmth and internet if needed.
We have a very
steep driveway what a nightmare!  Yesterday husband had a drs appointment in the city. It is over an hr drive for us. So we left early had lunch and got to the appointment an hr early and they took him right in!!! Yahoo.
And this is how we celebrated New Years Eve.
I WISH YOU ALL GOOD HEALTH AND GREAT JOY IN THE NEW YEAR,!!

If that was my appointment with icy roads I'd have cancelled my appointment. Love those moccasins! Don't tell me you got those at da dump. They look like LLBean slippers.

Happy New Year 🥳.
I am sure you are very happy to have a generator .
I celebrated pretty much the same way, but I had a rug frame on my lap!

Happy New Year! 🎉🥳
Love the slippers
Stay safe!
Most of the ice outside my door melted. The birdseed on the deck had been frozen in the ice left by snow melt.

We never lost power here. We had the guy who plows our driveway come and put down a layer of gravel, the ice was so thick there. Now it's had two dustings of snow hiding the ice. I wear crampons on my boots to walk outside.
The woodstove makes it cozy here too.

Oh, that icy snow is tricky to drive in, especially when you live up a steep hill. I loved seeing your pretty pictures of the snow though. We should get some this weekend. Looks like you had a relaxing and comforting new year's day after driving to the city. Happy New Year. May it be filled with good things in the days ahead.

*not sure if I mentioned to you, but I do appreciate your bigger font. It's hard for me to read the smaller font on so many blogs when I visit. ; )

We were to get the ice storm too but it didn’t materialize. Luckily!

I would take snow ever ice most any time...but prefer neither. We had a layer of ice on Sunday followed by 8" of snow....then it seems it snowed non-stop since then except for today. Each day the forecast said no precipitation and then a couple of inches fell from the sky. The worst though was the horrible winds. Our road drift awfully here. They could plow every 15 minutes and it would still be drifted. I had an infusion Monday morning and was so grateful for my old Land Rover. Looks like a cozy NYE!

Ice storms can cause such havoc! Nice to know you got to the appointment safely ( and got in early too).

I think ice is the worst. Do you have what they call black ice here as well? Impossible to see, no glare, then suddenly you’re sliding. I love how you spent New Year’s Eve - my kind of celebration!

Thankfully, we did not have that ice storm, Cathy, and glad the drive to the appointment went well. We spent New Year's Eve playing a game with fellow apt residents in the afternoon and then were home together for the evening. It was a great non-celebration.
