I want to thank you all for the lovely encouraging words they helped more than you know. What an amazing community here♡
The date for husband's surgery is Feb 4th. Until then he is on a soft diet. Which is a struggle. But AI said banana bread is in that category. So I made a loaf today. Husband was thrilled. A small piece with a glass of water for dessert.
I also made molasses cookies. I froze most of them but they are soft also. A nice treat with tea.
I mixed up this scottish 5 spice today. I put some in my banana bread, it tasted great. I will use it on oatmeal etc. It is from

Roving Haggis on FB. I have tried several of her recipes and they are always great.
I have painted a bit. Very relaxing. I have also been to my 3 exercise classes this week. It has helped with the stress. It seems the older I get the worse it is.

Not much happening this weekend except football. I may also pick up my rug hook again.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Prayers your husbands surgery is a success. I always love banana bread. What a treat for him. Janice
Thank you for the spice mix. I'm definitely going to do that. I have all the doings and I do like mixing my own spices.
It does help to get support and sympathy online, doesn't it? you're handling a tricky situation with such grace.
You are taking sweet care of your husband: ) I agree, stress seems to amplify with age.
The spice recipe looks great and I love all those spices. Banana bread looks baked to perfection.
There are much more difficult and less delicious diets than a soft one and your bread sounds wonderful. The spice mix sounds great too. I hope the time between now and the surgery goes quickly. Hang in there. You've got this. (Oh, and love the painting -- especially the blue one!)
I'm sure your hubby is thrilled with those treats! Praying the wait goes well and the surgery is effective.
The spice mix sounds very good!
Keeping busy has always helped me handle stress. My house was always cleanest when our daughter had a long drive alone.
I've been seeing something associated with haggis in Valley News and wondered what it was. He/she is a chef?
Hugs and prayers ♥️
Cookies look good. Good luck to your husband and you
Prayers for your husband. Also praying for you. I know the stress and anxiety that you must be feeling.
Grace & Peace,
Pam
I like all those spices! You're taking good care of your husband.
Also hope that all goes well with your husband’s upcoming surgery, and the recovery as well. Banana bread is comforting anytime and the cookies look good too😋
Some wonderful comfort treats going on there. I was surprised to read that banana bread counts as a “soft” food. Then, again, I don’t think I ever had to deal with a soft diet…usually it was just liquid…. (And don’t get me started on whatever kind of diet they had me on in the hospital….) Your paintings are impressive.
You are always baking Yummy desserts. Your kitchen must smell wonderful. : )
I love, love, love how exercise helps with the stress. Just so good. And, I find if I get it in early, I get my energy for the day is stronger. LOOOOVE the soft banana bread. That's a treat for sure.
