Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going. by Jim Ryun
Sat. my sweet friend and I took a good walk down to the frozen lake.
While it was good, cold, and icy it was nice to get out in the fresh air.
We both used our micro-spikes. They worked like a charm. We hit some pretty icy patches.
After we went to a local thrift. 2 ott lights! One I will keep one goes to my grand.
I also purchased a dress, pants, top, a pair of shorts for husband and a couple of odds and ends for a grand total of 20.00! I love thrifting.
I participated in 12 magical nights. You write down 13 things you would like to work on,on separate papers. Starting Dec 21 you choose one but don't look at it. You can rip it up,burn it, or how ever you want you do that until Jan 2nd the one left is what you work on for the year. Mine was paint more. I follow Andrea Nelson on Instagram. She does little lessons.
On Friday my grand Sweet B and I went shopping for her birthday. Of course one stop was a thrift store. She bought pjs that were long sleeve and long pants much to large for her. Voila this is what she has started!! She still has work on the bottoms but she is amazing!!!

You find the best thrift store treasures! Good score on the Ott lights!
I look forward to your 2026 painting projects.
Happy New Year 🥳
Those spikes on shoes really help! I love thrifting too.
The frozen lake is pretty - sure looks cold! I need some of those spikes.
The 12 magical nights is a fun idea. You'll have to share what you paint.
Sweet B is very talented.
What fantastic finds. So is that short and top something she is sewing? You said she started so figured that’s what you meant.
Looks like you're off to a good start for the new year, Cathy.
I drove by our lake toady and saw lots of ice fisherman out there. You always find such treasures thrifting. Janice
You really are a thrifting queen. I hadn’t been to a thrift store in a long while as it seemed there was never anything decent anymore and finally went to a couple when I was out and about when I was doing my Christmas shopping/errands. Nothing had changed….Other than a small strand of used Christmas lights, I found absolutely nothing. There are so many “professional” thrifters - people who know which stores put out things on what days and when certain things are discounted, etc. and who make a full-time job of thrifting and flipping things - that there’s rarely anything worth buying left. Miss B is filled with creativity. She probably could have a future in fashion design. I had some spikes but think I got rid of them when we were no longer involved in snowmobile racing… I’m going to wish I still had them as we’re having an ice storm right now.
Hello! So glad that your year is off to a good start! I love thrifting too. It is always fun to see the great bargains you find. Enjoy the coming week!
Great finds and the Ott lights are a good score. Even with the cold, it is nice to get out. We have gotten snow, but not enough to cc ski on. Miss B is very talented, beautiful outfit.
Thrifting fan, too. Love seeing what you found.
I’m with Robin - our thrift stores have absolutely nothing - hmmm, or is it me?! You always find the best things and oh the clever sewing skills of Miss B - wow!
Nice find on the Ott lights! Would that big city happen to be Concord? That, or somewhere close to it, will be our new home sometime this year. Our son and family are there. I love thrifting but it's on hold. We are trying to downsize. lol!
No manchester. We are 50 minutes North of Concord.
I want to go to thrift stores with you, we would have such fun! Happy 2026!!
Have you ever been thrifting at Listen in Lebanon? We've purchased a variety of chairs, furniture and odds and ends at Listen over the years. Somehow I haven't gotten in to feeling comfortable about buying clothing there though do donate my clothing giveaways there.
i LOVE ll bean, my husband has worn their slippers for years. when the linning finally wears out, i buy him a new pair. your granddaughter is AMAZING...it is so nice to see a girl of today sewing, making clothes. you do not hear much about that anymore!! i have never had any luck with thrifting, you certainly do!!
Wonderful finds! Happy to hear your granddaughter sews! Mine likes working on cars...her boyfriend, not so much! LoL.
Grace & Peace,
Pam
You just never know what treasures you'll find at the thrift store!! I love my Ott lamp and find it hard to read without it. I must go to the LLBean website and look for those slippers. They look like what I'm looking for.
