A Lot To Learn

Yesterday we had Sue's celebration of life. There were 150 + people there. There were stories of her generosity, kindness, and friendship over and over again. Sue had lessons to teach us, and I am not sure we were all listening closely enough. Sue how we will miss you.

After the service we all went to my brother in laws.
Changed our clothes and had a BBQ.
This is all the first cousins, the next generation.

And this is a picture of the of her 3 brothers, sister in laws, nieces and nephews.

When I went to King Arthur Flour in July, I purchase a pullman pan.
To make perfectly square bread. Did I need it? No! But I wanted to give it a try.

We have had lovely cool weather so now was the time to try it out.
It worked perfectly! Very tasty and perfect sandwich bread.
Pretty easy and really it was fun to see it come out.

The tomatoes are coming in all at once. Today I roasted them with garlic and onions. Gave it a whirl in the food processor and froze it in bags for later use of sauce, tomato soup, etc.
                               **********************
I cannot believe it is the unofficial end of summer this coming weekend. While it was hot and dry summer it did slip by quickly.
Have a wonderful week and don't miss a chance hug those you love.

Great family photos.... While I didn't know Sue, I'm betting she loved the idea of all of the family coming together to truly "celebrate" her. Something tells me, she was there with you all. I used a pullman for pan de mie but that's about it. They are fun though LOL. I'd love to follow you around your kitchen for a few days. Yes, hard to believe next week is Labor Day already. It feels like summer has already ended here. Our high today was 62ยบ but, with the wind, it feels like 51. Lows dipping into the 40's.

Looks like a nice gathering to honor your sister in law.
Just picked a lot of cherry tomatoes this afternoon. Put the photo on my header. will have to do something to save them all.

I love that picture of the square bread. I had never heard of a pullman bread pan. That's pretty cool. My tomatoes are ripening too. I had not thought of roasting them with onions and garlic. So sorry for the loss of your friend. Have a good week.

Wish I had a tomato bounty like that. Heck, have tried numerous times to grow tomatoes here but since I'm surrounded by woods there is not enough sunlight in any area for growth. Enjoy.
