Dear Diary...

It has been a long hot summer so far and I am tired of the humid air. This weekend we drove to Maine for a cookout with family.
This was the scene on the way home. It kept getting better and better but it was hard to catch in a moving truck.

Today we are having light rain which we need desperately. This little bird decided he would people watch while eating. This feeder is under cover so he was high and dry.

I got caught up on laundry and watched old movies.
It just doesn't get any better than this! Bing Crosby and Grace Kelly in High Society

It was full of great old Jazz, can you tell I loved it!

I hooked a bit today

And because our freezer door was left a tiny bit open on the hottest
day of the year and everything defrosted ugg..
I have tried to bake and use up as much as I could out of the freezer. Thankfully I had cooked out of the freezer most of the week before so really not a lot was lost.

I do write in a diary nightly and the rule is it has to be positive. I started it when husband was sick and it kept me sane.
Some days there is so much to be thankful for but other days, I am thankful for getting through the day in one piece.
****
I am looking forward to next weekend as we will see my sweet family for the whole weekend how I have missed my daughter, sweet B and my son in law!

I think I need to go to upper maine to get out of this heat, lol.
We are humid but the temps are lower, so bearable and it was perfect to get out and enjoy since most people stayed home with impending rain. It never rained and the sun came out. Sounds like a weekend to look forward too, hopefully I can get up there again, maybe a long fall weekend.

Oh we need rain, too. We barely got a sprinkle and a mile south of me they had puddles.
How nice you have next weekend to look forward to. I'm going to Chicago in two weeks so Jake can visit his cousins.
Good to see you hooking!
Hugs :)

We did get some rain thankfully. We're in a moderate drought and the humidity has been bad too. This has been one hot and humid summer but I'm trying to just go with it because you and I both know what's ahead of us in a few months! Enjoy your weekend with family!

It's been a weird summer for sure.
I do not deal well with the hot and humid, yet I am not anxious for summer to leave, I just wish it would settle in the mid-70's with less than 60% humidity!!!

Our heat is hot and dry - desert living over here - your berry cobbler dessert looks amazing, it's probably what the little birdie was thinking as he stared into the window - take care - hope August settles down in the humidity department for you

Hello there
How I have thought of you often wondering how your doing. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Maine. I will never forget my short trip there.
I miss you and all my blogging friends. I keep wanting to get back into writing but as you know I have not.
Like you the summer temps have been horribly hot and humid here. Today and all week we will suffer with triple digits with no rain in sight. I am still on the tractor and working out here but not moving near as fast as I once did.
Will hopefully check on you soon again.
Love
Maggie
