Seeing Red

This was a good week to use my crock pot. My mom gave me this when I got married and it is still a work horse. Pork roast with potatoes, onions, and carrots. It always does my heart good to come home to dinner and the house smelling delicious.

This time article was about cooking at home. I know we do not go
out any where near as much as we use to. It is cheaper and I believe that if families sat down to dinner a few times a week families would be stronger. Ok I am off my soap box :)

I had a few requests for my whoopie pie recipe. this is an old recipe I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I make them small and bake them about 5-6 minutes.

As I have mentioned before I am cleaning out my wool closet.
This is a pile of red skirts that will be taken apart. I am planning on posting bundles of wool for sale.

I am still working on my rug not sure I loving the big blue
flower but I am going to leave it until I finish and then make a decision.

It is snowing again! so should I hook the night away or....

Read the new book David got me for Valentines. I have a little old English woman living somewhere inside of me.( I sure hope it is Violet )
I have wanted this book for some time and I never buy new books. Last weekend husband was sick so no valentines gifts.
Today we went out to breakfast and hit the bookstore. Now because I have wanted this book for so long I don't want to hurry and read it.
****
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I got one when we got married and actually burned spaghetti sauce, lol. I am too used to cooking with pots, my mom always used a pressure cooker. I like the pop of blue and I like to wait myself, then I can tell how it looks over all.

Comfort and a new book sounds like a good way to spend a snowy night. I think I'll break out the crock pot tomorrow too. Stay warm

Thanks for the Whoopie pie filling recipe. I'll try again when I get the chance.

Slow cooker recipes are great for busy people especially in the winter.

I'm counting the days to Spring and every time I go to bed, I'm one day closer.

Hope you stay safe and warm.
Hugs,
JB

great post!
the whoopies sound very good, again! which means I really want some, but should not make them, I would eat every bite! I still one old crock pot, about that vintage, and a couple of newer different size ones. 9 times out of 10, the old one is the one I use! I like her work, and have seen this book on her blog. hope you enjoy it very much! hope he is feeling much better now.

You can get right back on your soap box missy! I agree with you. Goodness, you must be a youngster because I don't think my mother had a crock pot. Maybe I'm old enough to be your mother!

Loving all that gorgeous red plaid! That book is wonderful! I am reading it slowly...so that it lasts a long time. Enjoy!

So did you hook or read or both? How sweet of David.
I wasn't too sure about the blue flower, either, since it is nowhere else on the rug but mine's staying.
Hugs :)

I do love me a good book! Enjoy yours! I loved my old crockpot that I got when we married. It lasted about 36yrs before it died...and I cried! The new one I have cooks so hot...it would burn everything if left on med! Plus it's so big. The old one was perfect. I'll have to look for an old one at a flea market. Hope your snow isn't too bad. I'm just wishing for these cold temps to move out!
