Ben Cartwright where are you?

I mulched a lot the gardens this weekend lots of sweating, and bug bites. I have truly come to the conclusion that I hate manual labor. while I was mulching I thought if I lived in the old west I would have to be a saloon girl or marry Ben Cartwright.I could never fend for myself.  Ben would have lots of help around so I could sit and read, hook, and throw lavish parties. Hop Sing I believe I will have steak tonight.:0)

A church sale this week netted some good finds
.

for very cheap.

and a few Christmas things to add to the stash.

Good Miss Baby time was had. Her Mother's day gift to her mother.
She now says mom, mom, mom! Of course her first words were dad, dad, dad.
My mother's day gift? David sat down this morning and said "I can say I feel good for the first time in a long time" Hooray he still has a ways to go but it is a good start.
I will tell you about our date night next time.

You can choose your friends, but you only have one mother.

Happy Mother's Day! So happy to hear hubs is feeling more himself. That's fantastic news. All your cooking looks delicious. I have never eaten fiddleheads. Forgive my ignorance, but do you buy them at the grocery store of farmer's market? Did we have this conversation last year??? It seems familiar. (the fiddlehead part I mean) That baby? She is so adorable! My daughter's first word was kee ca (kitty cat) and then dada and finally mama. How did the cat end up first???

Cathy, what a great present for Mother's Day that David is feeling better and you are going on a date.

Miss Baby is so adorable in her little hat looking through the little window.

Nice finds, I could use that needle threader. I never saw one like that before. It takes me for ever to put the thread through the needle hole. lol... getting old. haha.
Your rock garden looks so clean and tidy.
There's a cat that comes around and does his business and digs in my Hosta flower bed in the front of the house but I haven't been able to catch it in the act.

Happy Mother's Day. Hugs JB

*****belated happy mother's day!!!
when our oldest was learing to talk
she would only call out...mom! well, as time went on she learned
to finally say , dad. the first time she did this we were in bed and had just turned out the light. the little voice was calling, dad, dad, dad...i jumped out of bed and went running. when i arrived in her room she innocently looked up at me and asked, "where's mom?"
crestfallen i went back to bed...only to pass her mother who was trying to stifle a laugh!!!
oh welllll...............

I hate manual labor too. I like looking at a nice garden but not doing the work to get it to that point. Glad David is doing well. Miss Baby is as cute as she can be.

Yippee for David!! I love that picture of Miss Baby...so sweet! Your gardens look great. We put in much sweat equity on our little plot this weekend and it still looks terrible! What were we thinking?

I love your garden! Your brown checkered tablecloth in the first photo is exactly like one I have in a dusty blue. I had thought mine was maybe hand made as there was no tags...guess not. ;) I love it and use it all the time. You picked up some nice treasures! Love the needle threader too.

Awww on Miss Baby. She is such the doll. What a great Mother's Day gift she gave Mom. :)

I'm glad David is finally feeling better. A perfect gift. :)

I am sitting here laughing at how you came up with Ben Cartwright. Now that is funny.
Your garden is really pretty but I can see it is a lot of work. I too am not good at cleaning out flower beds. Maybe that is why I don't have pretty ones like everyone else.
Such a sweet gift both for your daughter and yourself. I am glad David gave you these words. You sure needed to hear them.
Belated Happy Mothers Day friend
Love
