Snow and Fun Stuff

The day before Thanksgiving it snowed a lot....
We drove to Boston in the snow for David's first Dr's appointment after being discharged on Sunday.
We were pretty late but they took us right in. The Dr said you are not doing good.......you're doing great!

Our 17 year old kitty is having the hardest time with all of this because she can not be near David. so she is being kept in the basement (it has windows and a wood stove) but she is still very sad and breaks our heart crying to be with us. This am Sadie and I got up very early sat on the sofa in the kitchen and watched the sun rise. She was so happy purring in my lap while I drank coffee.

We watched a jet climb the cold, clear sky(the spots are water on the window) Until David got up. She didn't mind going in the basement that much, she got her morning time.

For all of you women living the single life, I have a very deep respect for you! I am exhausted doing all the things that David can't do and my stuff too. The Laundry is always piled as high as an elephant's eye.
Everything has to be washed everyday and our clothes can not co mingle.
Now on to the very fun stuff. Ta Da Dump!
I got these two books they are all wiped down and on the porch until I am ready to look at them.

This very country platter is soaking in soapy bleach water and then it will go in the dish washer, can you see it filled with cookies? There were a few things I left that I would have picked up another time, simplify simplify..

Today I went out to run errands. I got to the grocery store, came out and my car was as dead as dead could be. I was just around the corner from the garage we use. They gave me a jump I followed the wrecker to the garage and got a new battery. For this I am thankful because if we had been in a parking garage in Boston it would have been so much more expensive(they didn't charge us for the call) and scary with David still healing. Being thankful comes in all forms.

Great news about David! You must have had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year!
Poor Kitty .... animals always know when something's going on, don't they. When I was ill last year, our dog used to come over and just put her head on my knee.

You are a wonderful nurse to David, that's part of the reason he's doing so well..throw in all the love in your heart and he will be his good self soon! I wish I could come over and help with your chores! I'm sure David is wishing the same thing and he'll be tickled when he's able to continue doing all he used to. Have a great weekend and enjoy those treasures you found. You always get the best stuff..either it's that or the fact that it's stuff I would enjoy too!

What wonderful news from the Doctor! Im SO pleased for David, and you and your family of course.
Poor Sadie, but as long as she gets some time on your lap when you are able I'm sure she'll be fine. Sorry that you have all the chores to yourself Cathy :o(
Love your dump finds - the books look very interesting, and your lovely country platter too.
Glad your car was sorted out relatively easily, the kind of stress you really could do without.
Sending best wishes, hope you have a lovley weekend, and the magic continues for David!

I also think about my friends that are widowed or single and have no one to help them. It's good to appreciate the men in our lives. HUgs Cheri

Your shots are so lovely. I am so glad to hear is doing so well. Hang in there my friend. My husband is often gone working for long periods of time so I know what you mean about appreciating what they do when they are around.

As if the stress of driving to Bean-town isn't enough, you had to add a pile of snow on top! I'm happy to hear you made a safe round trip and rec'd good news!

I'm sure Sadie will understand, animals are perceptive like that!

So glad to hear that David is doing so well..... but poor Sadie.

Thanks for the empathy you have for me and people like me. I have just been raking leaves and at my age trying to keep the yard and house up by myself is overwhelming.

Cathy, I'm so glad that David is doing so well and that you are coping with everything by yourself.

I'm not single but I have to do lots of the chores that are typically heavy for a small woman like me. I do what I can and forget about the rest now. Things are never the same and we adjust the best we can. Even pets have to adjust. Have a good week. JB

Great news about David! Did they tell you why the cat cannot be around David? If it's cat dander/hair, etc., I'm wondering if having the cat on you will transpose to David? Sorry, old nurse here. Something to ask your physician. Glad you were close to help when your battery went dead!

hello,
Lovely snow pictures. We have been caring for our son's dog - he doesn't have a yard big enough - it is different. Our daughter has been visiting while her husband is away - we count it all a blessing. The dish is marvelous! Cookies sound perfect right now! I had our battery to die on me while I was out shopping last year. Thankfully, my husband wasn't too far away and a young man at the Home Depot helped till he arrived.
I hope you have a blessed week,
Kathy
