I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and the time change isn't affecting you to much.
We stayed close to home and did a few things that have been lingering. Much of it cleaning and organizing. You have seen the bird feeder we have hanging outside of our big window. we have a small over hang and when it rains or the snow melts off the roof ,the water goes right in the bird feeder. My husband came up with the new hanger so I can pull it in to fill and also pull it out of the way of the water coming off the roof. He is pretty smart don't you think !
I tackled my wool closet. Now to say I have to much wool is an understatement. I am almost ashamed to show you how much wool I have. If I hook every day from now until I turn a 100 I would never use it up. So my name is Cathy and I am a wool hoarder.............
It did feel good to clean out closets and get more things ready to go to the thrift store. My craft room is almost inhabitable. I love to cook but I am a fly by the seat of my pants girl. That means no recipe, it also means that I my never make the same thing the same twice. I also use up what we have and throw out very little. So stale bread becomes bread crumbs or croutons. I made these croutons and we had them on salad this weekend and not to brag but they are amazing! My husband looks at me as says you don't remember what you put on them do you? Yep he is right ,I remember some of it but not sure I remember it all. I do know it is made from french bread, garlic and ???? not sure. Does anyone else do this? 
My prayers are with the people of Japan but I have had to stop watching the news. I was becoming so anxious about those poor people. Have a wonderful week everyone and welcome to my new follower.

I planned on cleaning and organizing too, but it didn't happen. Your wool closet is lushious! I'm afraid I'm a recipe girl. When I experiment it never ends well. Lol
I laughed when I saw all that material..sure reminds me of my Mom and her sewing closet..wait, maybe that is her closet! Aren't you thrifty by not wasting any food...I'm more partial to using stale bread in bread pudding..but I do love croutons too. Of course you could throw it out to all the birds using the feeder!
Have been gone for a week and I miss reading all my favorite blogs. I finally tackled my sewing room and oh my it looks so much better.
Sounds like you are a busy gal and you make use of everything you have including old bread..good idea ~ croutons...yum yum~!

I agree, the endless news reports remind me of 9/11 and I'm feeling so sad for all those people affected.
you never see them measuring or looking at a recipe on those cooking competition shows. they just throw stuff together. I say, if it works, go with it! and enjoy!

I'm sure there's a 12 step program for excesses in wool. You've taken the first step...and I'm right there with you! At least it's off my dining room table where it spent the last month! LOL
I agree with the olive oil on the croutons...maybe a touch of oregano and basil with the garlic.

Your wool stash looks nicely organized - I like the way you've turned boxes on their sides on the shelf to help corall things - I'll bet you can find exactly what you're looking for in there!
You never know when you are going to get to a great project with all those things. It hard being a crafter when everything has so much potential...
What a load of wool. You will never be at a loss for hooking rug materials. I agree about Japan. I had to stop watching it too. It is just so overwhelming.
My friends laughed at me when I told them I make my own croutons and such....till they tasted them...now who's laughin'? Thanks for visiting me and letting me vent...I suppose I have a few months to get used to idea of my daughter moving away...well see.

Wow, now, that's a wool stash. How long have you been collecting wool?
I love homemade croutons and I use olive oil, garlic powder, and herbs like basil or oregano, but sometimes I use butter and garlic powder and a bit of parmesan. I use any stale bread that I have available.
You certainly do have a lot of wool! The croutons look good. I did some rearangeing this week too.I need to do more.Blessings jane
It is good to get things cleaned out -- and sometimes that "good" feeling lasts longs enough that you don't buy new things either!
Reminds me of my ribbon cupboard! I love it but it's got a LOT of ribbon! If I die, my kids will say "what kind of sale did she find?"! Lol. You make gorgeous things out of that wool so it's OK.
As for the croutons...I like to drizzle them w olive oil and garlic salt...mmm!
I agree about Japan...they need all our prayers.
