A Cold Rain

I have been getting to the end of my freezer. I found a bag of blueberries from last summer's picking. A blueberry coffee cake was just what I needed. It is already almost gone. I am getting ready to restock cupboards and freezer, but I wanted to make sure we use up what we had first.
And talk about creating my Sweet B did this in art class in school!!!
My friend said "I think she got the whole family's talent" I don't think she is wrong. This grandchild blows me away every day.
I have a watercolor class tomorrow. I am looking forward to it. I have warned this teacher I have never done this before. she laughed and said don't worry we will have fun.

This is outside our skylight; it is hard to see the rain drops but it is raining on all the snow that is on the ground. It is also 35 degrees, so you can just imagine how cold and damp it is.
I have done a bit of laundry and now I am in my rug room listening to music and hooking a bit. It feels good to be quiet
I am meeting a few friends for lunch on Friday should be fun.
Have a wonderful week!

I love and totally agree with the quote you begin this post with. Sweet B is quite the artist. Hope you are having a good week. See you again soon!

Wow! Miss B's cat eye is fantastic!! The eye itself looks so realistic. Have fun at watercolor class. It sounds like fun. The only watercoloring I do is on my spun cotton pieces. While I would like to do more artistic things with it (where the painting is the center and purpose of things), I don't need another hobby/craft at this point. We're in the midst of an awful winter storm. It started with rain last night (LOTS of rain) and then changed to snow (so a nice layer of ice under the snow at this point) and white-out winds (45mph+). The forecast keeps changing but last I saw they were saying 4-9" of snow. And I'm supposed to venture out tonight. Trying to figure out how I can get out of it at the moment. Ugh. ~Robin~

It's raining on our snow too! They are predicting flooding as the ground is still frozen.
You've reminded me that I need to use my blueberries too. Your cake looks so good,
Sweet B is very talented!

That sounds like a good teacher, ready to have fun. I like her approach. There's art talent in your family, certainly. You'll probably uncover your own.

The cat's eye painting is fantastic! It is true, if you feel sad go and create something. Stay warm!

You had me with that delicious looking blueberry cake. I think that is a perfect example of your first meme. I think you did it. Sweet B is a great artist too.

That first image and quote is wonderful, especially as it features a penguin 🐧. Your granddaughter is certainly multi-talented in the creative arts. ENjoy the water color class. yesterday, I attended a silk painting session at the library and while I was apprehensive at first and most likely will never paint on silk again, it was FUN. That's something we all need as much as possible in our lives.

Also, I always have the same plan to clear out the pantry and freeze. The cake you baked with the "found" blueberries has given me an idea to use some cranberries in a cake.

Wow, a seamstress/dressmaker and artist in the making. Painting will be another creative afternoon you gals can enjoy when she visits.

I've been buying blueberries that come from Peru or some place in S. America. They've been on sale. Yesterday it was strawberries from Florida on sale at Hannafords so I got two and one is already gone.
The rain we were supposed to get didn't materialize - just a slight drizzle. My husband was hoping for a NH carwash with this rain.

The class should be fun. It sounds like the perfect distraction during this late winter weather.

Oh, Miss B is so talented! You have so much to be proud of in her! You reminded me that I have some blueberries in the freezer too. I was going to make a pie but I'm not a great pie maker so maybe I'll do some crisp. Your dish looks delish! My sister does a watercolor class too. She loves it even though she had never done it before. It's fun to see how much she improves as she learns new things every class. I hope you enjoy your class and I'm betting you're a natural. We've had up and down temps this week but cold and snow tomorrow and weekend. However, next week looks promising with temps int he 60's. I hope those find you! Take care, Cathy!

I want to plant a blueberry bush. Not sure how it would do here close to the ocean in So. Calif. I need to research. The coffee cake looks scrumptious! Your Granddaughter definitely has some amazing talent. Blows me away too.

I imagine finding those blueberries, is a little like finding buried treasure. That looks so wonderful. Miss Bs painting is wonderful. It looks so cold where you live. It sounds like a nice day to be able to hook like that. Have a nice week.

Your grandchild's artistic talent is truly inspiring—it must be such a joy to watch them grow and explore their creativity! I’m sure the watercolor class will be a wonderful experience too. I love that your teacher is making sure you feel at ease—it's all about having fun and discovering your own style.

The rain and snow outside must add to the peaceful atmosphere, especially while you're in your rug room. There’s something so calming about having quiet moments to reflect, listen to music, and work on a project. Enjoy your lunch with friends on Friday, sounds like a perfect way to wrap up the week.

Wishing you a lovely week ahead! I hope you are having a great weekend. You are invited to read my new post: https://www.melodyjacob.com/2025/03/the-breathtaking-adventures-we-had-in-glencoe.html Thank you.
