Written In The Sand

Thursday late afternoon my sweet friend and I met at her beach house in Maine for a couple of days. (Sun rise)

I am not sure what creature did this, but it is amazing. It was only where the little pools of water had dried out.

There were lots of these little shore birds. Not sure if they were sand pipers. They were so fun to watch, and they stayed well after dark.
Since my husband was at home, I decided we all needed a treat.
We do not get donuts often and they were tasty.
But they have become an expensive treat glad I don't do it often.

We went to a primitive store that the woman makes the bulk of the items. I am trying to not bring more stuff into the house, but I could not resist.

Since I had the witch sign, I needed to put my witch up on the porch.
We are starting to look spooky around here boo!

Today we went to a fun fair. It was put on by a very talented artist.
And she had very fun and funky ideas.
This was poems while you wait, such a fun idea.

Great music!

A great back fence, tarot reader, and great crafts people.
Filled me with ideas only to come home settle in to watch a horrid football game and read. I need to get out of my funk!

I heard rain was coming in this week finally. Tuesday just a bit but Wednesday a lot more.

My foot is finally back to normal, and I have figured out what the issue is. I bought a new pair of walking shoes. They are comfortable but somehow, they cause an issue with my right foot putting it into plantar fasciitis. That pain was getting the best of me so glad it has resolved itself. But now I have to figure out a new pair of shoes.
I hope your week is a wonderful one!

  1. That fense is my kind of jam. I love the fun. Neato on the doughnuts. As soon as the oven gets fixed, I'll get back to baking them. Cake doughnuts! Glad you hung with your friend. Good post. Good energy. cheers.🎃

  2. Think a lot of us have a lingering funk despite keeping ourselves busy.
I have a horrid looking bunion on my right foot which is so distorted the next hammer toe curls over the big toe. Tough finding any shoe which is comfortable and should have had surgery years ago. But back then who would care for and walk the dog, I wouldn't be able to drive for 6 weeks and just never had that taken care of. Needless to say I've constant discomfort in that plus the other foot with hammer toe and enlarged bone. Getting old isn't for sissies, that's for sure.

  3. Beautiful sun, yummy donuts, love the witch sign – it all looks wonderful! I had to tell you I whipped up your ricotta and garlic dip-delicious! Mine didn’t look as cheesy as yours, but tasted terrific (did you use a wedge or the container?) anyway today I reheated it, put in a little heavy cream, and a bit of cream cheese, and it made the most wonderful quick and easy Alfredo sauce for pasta - you’re a genius! .

  4. You have more fun than most anyone I know LOL. And I say, good for you! I love your new sign - it goes great with your fun rug. I've pulled out a handful of Halloween things - not much, but a start. Tomorrow I hope to get the antique/vintage pulp paper jacks out and my vintage noisemakers.... Glad you figured out the source of your plantar fasciitis. I've broken so many bones in my feet that I am truly surprised they are still usable LOL. Hmmmm....donuts. Now you have me thinking about what I did with my favorite recipes. We had some rain yesterday - finally! And a wee bit today. Still could use more but I'll take what we've gotten happily.

  5. I love a good ole box of donuts and a crafty art fair!!!! :) Have a super first of the week. I tell you it took me a long bit for my foot to heal and it steal at times after a long hike or many days of walking can give me an issue. I tape mine when needed, roll it on a ball made for plantar fasciitis and wear a sock that is supportive for it too.

  6. The designs in the sand are really pretty! Sounds like you had a great weekend.
I need to find the cause for my plantar fasciitis, it's getting old!

  7. What fun! The craft fair looks better than the one I went to. Love the primitive store. I would love to spend a few nights on a house in Maine. Everything looks so wonderful. The donuts seem especially nice. We don't' get them very often either.

  8. Looks like a fun time with a good friend. I have seen those tracks and even seen a fresh water oyster making them, so I assume it was some sort of clam or shell critter that made them.

  9. Glad you had a nice weekend. It's good that you found out what was causing the pain in your foot, and that you were able to resolve the problem. Have a good week and happy fall to you!

  10. What a fun little get away! The fair sounded like a good time, too.
The rain we were supposed to get yesterday fizzled to just a few drops. More in the forecast this week and I hope we actually get some.
Lucky you to already have your foot issue resolved. After many months, I am still hobbling around. It’s about time to cry uncle and see a doctor.

  11. Have you tried an orthodic insert for your shoes? I find I need that to prevent Plantar f.

  12. The sunset in your first photo is so lovely! Could the squiggly lines on the beach be sandworms?
I love the idea of a fun fair and "poems while you wait"! Hope you can find a good pair of shoes that do not harm your feet.
    Enjoy these autumn days.

  14. Someday I'd like to see a sun rise over the water just like your first picture. ( or a sunset...either would be great).
I am the only person that I know of who doesn't care for donuts.
I see someone else has mentioned an orthotic shoe insert. Might work.

  15. We had a hippie fest here last weekend. It was pretty cool. Loved how that lady was using a real typewriter for her poems. Pretty cool whatever creature did that in the sane for sure. Glad you had some fun time with your friend in Maine. Janice

  16. Looks like a great getaway and donuts are always a treat too. The markings in the sand most likely from birds, maybe sea gulls? Uncomfortable shoes can cause a number of foot issues and I have also experienced plantar fasciitis and hears ago had inserts.

  19. Oh I so enjoyed my visit to your blog. Your fall things are motivating me to get busy getting my own out. I would love to visit Maine. Have been as far north as Vermont but have never made it to Maine. Hope your foot continues to get better. I have had a similar situation with one of mine. Over time it got healed. I do think shoes can make quite a difference. Take care. Will be back again soon.
