A Mystery In The Water.

I took a walk around the garden this morning before work and thought I would take you along. We have a very small pond near the porch door. It is very shady. I have tried to plant small plants of interest. This miniature hosta was a church sale find. I love how small and sweet it is perfect for this spot.
Oh and look this turtle is going for a swim. It really is an iron turtle that I got at a yard sale for .50. Take a good look in the water do you see any kind of picture in the water? Let me know what you see and I will tell you what I think it looks like. It is a bit spooky.
I love the yellow and pink together here.
My fairy roses are so abundent this year.
I have only a couple of yardsale finds from the past weekend. I have wanted a cookbook stand for awhile and found this one and a cook book for the total price 3.00.
It has been hot here so I have spent the nights reading on the porch. I love when it is all dark and cozy on the porch.
The thunder is rolling around the mountains tonight with a promise of cool clear air. Good night sweet friends.

  2. Oooooh! It looks like a fce to me Cathy....
Your hosta is SO sweet, I wouldn't dare have one in my garden as the slugs would see it off in one night :o( I love your sweet turtle too. Your flowers look great, and the bookrest is a bargain and so useful. Looks lovely to read on the porch - but look out for those bears!
Hope you and David are well. Enjoy the weekend.
    Best wishes

  4. I don't think I've noticed mini-hostas before. They would work well at my house since we have a lot of shade. We do have several regular sized hostas in different varieties. Thanks for the photo!

  8. I don't believe that I'm going to say this, because I'm always such a skeptic when people say they see the face of Jesus or the Virgin Mary....but I have to say...I think it looks like Jesus.

  9. You have a loch Ness Monster in your little pond. Love your flowers and that little hosta looks like Mouse Ear Hosta.

I hope that you find some tasty recipes to share from that cook book.
Have a great weekend and hope that your husband has a good week and you too of course. JB

  10. Sweet turtle! I wasn't sure - but thought I saw a face. It reminded me of those pictures you stare at for a while then an image appears! Of course I love the flowers! Great finds! I need to do some thrifting!!!

  11. I love the cookbook holder. We have had heat the last couple of days, but today is cool, breezy, and beautiful! The water looks like it has a submerged green monster face in it. Your garden is lovely and it makes me long for flower beds again!
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  12. I love the thought of sitting outside to read. Sadly, any light at all leads to assaults by our huge June bugs. Please share what you see in the pond. I am so bad at those kind of things.

  13. Oh how I have missed you and your site. Nice coming by here to today and catching up.
I see several things in the water...haha One brings me a picture of a bear head and then another of a sea serpent. Boy do I see things. Now what is it.
Love Hosta's and tried them when I lived in town but slugs ate them all the way to the roots. I even put beer in a saucer since I read that kills slugs or gets them drunk or something but no luck.
I have though of trying them again out here but have not yet
Hope your having a great week
    Love
