National donut day on Friday.
I love donuts and thankfully we don't have a good shop near us.
I was meeting a friend 1/2 hr away and stopped in a shop there. Just ok sadly.
I hit up the thrift store on the way back home. All this for 6.00!
Since it was raining I decided to pull out the pasta machine i thrifted months ago.
I made some mistakes and learned a lot.
Since I was making pasta I made sauce.
And bread.....
And it was delicious!
I spent the day weeding and being outside. The sun was shining I try to soak up as much as I can.
Have a wonderful week!!
Seems to me with your knack for cooking and baking you should open a restaurant.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend-end....We've had spotty showers since earlier this morning...and chilly, very chilly. It would have been a good pasta making day. I've not made homemade pasta for several months now...think the last I made was ravioli. I'll need to get back to it because homemade pasta is, indeed, the best. Did you do both ravioli and spaghetti?! You're ambitious.
ReplyDeleteYour spaghetti looks delish. My mom used to make homemade noodles with her machine and they were so good!

Good evening I applaud you for using the pasta machine many years ago I really one-I was really busy back then and never got to it sadly. everything sounds good. I spent the whole morning working out in the garden today-perfect weather-the afternoon got very warm and humid-storms with strong winds are back this evening-felt good to be back working in the garden
ReplyDeleteHappy new week Kathy
I'm really impressed by you using that pasta machine and for thrifting it! Your meal looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the week with more sunshine, I hope.
ReplyDeleteOn my to do list this week is weeding. Every living plant has loved the rain including the weeds. Pasta looks very good.
ReplyDeleteI love making pasta. After making it I can't go back to buying it. I hope your week is filled with lots of sunshine.
ReplyDeleteI love pasta sauce -- better than the pasta! But you can't beat fresh!
ReplyDeleteAnd now you have me thinking about using my pasta machine soon as it was gifted to me by my late mother. The focacia looked delicious too, perfect with pasta.
ReplyDeleteOh my, that food looks delishious! I've never made my own pasta but I found some protein pasta that I like. We've had rain and some chilly temps the last few days but today is just beautiful and I'll spend it outdoors for sure! Plus I'm heading to the plant place for just a couple of flowers...really, just a few...I hope! Your garden from the previous post looks so pretty. Enjoy the day!
ReplyDeleteThe pasta and sauce look so good! And I like your thrifty finds. It's such fun seeing what will appeal to us at the thrift store, knowing it won't cost a lot.
ReplyDeleteHomemade noodles for the win! Love that.
ReplyDeleteoooooh and look how well you cook, that looks delicious!!! i have only made pasta a handful of times, but it's best when it's made fresh!! you will always get great deals at a thrift shop!!
ReplyDeleteYour pasta meal looks delicious. Italian is my favorite. I am a donut lover too, especially those plain glazed donuts. The purple blouse is cute that you found at the thrift store. The last quote hit home for me, as I've been going through things, sorting, organizing, and giving away. Have a lovely weekend.
