I developed a head cold. I cannot take cold medicine because of other issues so I suffer! Who knew the human nose could produce that much sn*t ugg.
If I am not napping, I am going through cookbooks.
And hooking. This rug is giving me a very hard time.
Before the head cold hit, I went to the dollar store and picked up some of these whirligigs to keep the birds out of my garden. Fingers crossed it helps.
My chives are flowering; I want to make some chive butter but haven't felt like it right now. The fun story is these chives were in my father in law's garden he has been gone 32 years now, but the chives go on.
Lily of the valley, I love it, but it is spreading like crazy.
Fairy lilies from a sweet friend.
And that is all I have. I am feeling a bit better today, so I am hoping for a better day tomorrow.
We are in for better weather this week thankfully it has rained for every weekend. I feel bad for those who have to work all week only to have rainy weekend.
Have a wonderful week!

So sorry about head cold-I can't stuff either-I just use vit c and solary's echinacea and goldenseal never thought of those whirlygigs I don't mind the birds as I bath dishes out for them but perhaps it would help with those pesky chipmunks-they are messing up so many pots of plants already-oh well
ReplyDeletehope you feel better soon
hugs Kathy
Do you know where you caught your cold? No fun when you feel bad and colds really take it out of you. Feel better soon. Went and shopped for annuals this afternoon. Planning to fill the pots I have with their colors.
ReplyDeleteA few, quite a few, years ago I pulled up some Lily of the valley flowers from my mother’s property. They have taken over one side of the driveway and are almost as invasive as the periwinkle.
ReplyDeleteNarrow cut hooking has always given me fits. And yes I also consider a 6 narrow.
I'm sorry about the head cold, ugg is right!
ReplyDeleteWe have never planted lily of the valley but some popped up and now is filling a whole bed in the back. Last month Bob spotted a bit in another bed and quickly pulled it up!
Our chives aren't blooming yet, love them.
Hope you feel better soon!
I am so sorry you have a head cold. Nothing worse when you want to feel good and get things accomplished. Its always a good day to read a cookbook. I read cookbooks for fun too. Your rug looks very nice. I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon! Summer colds are really not fun. I love those little pink flowers at the end of your post. I need to get some of those whirly gigs. We have squirrels in our yard and they are eating the new little strawberries in my garden. Any ideas on how to discourage hungry squirrels. My neighbor puts out nuts for them, so I know that's why we have so many. I wish she would stop. Hope you have a good week and get over your cold soon!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. Your flowers look lovely.
ReplyDeleteGrace & Peace,
Pam
Happy to her you are feeling better. A cold can make a person miserable. Ah-choo!
ReplyDeleteThose fairy lilies are so sweet. I am not familiar with them.
Lily of the valley. Pretty? Yes. Invasive? Hell yes.
Sorry the rug is giving you a hard time. Hopefully it will get better 🤞🤞
Rugs and Pugs
Argh....stinky time to be feeling punky. I'm hoping you kick it before the good weather hits you. From what I see, your rug looks great. Those big rugs in finer cuts must be difficult to hook. I would imagine you need to step back and try to look at it as a stranger would. Being so close to it would be deceiving. I love lily of the valley. It was one of the main flowers in our wedding on June 11th. It was, unfortunately, an unusually hot and dry years and, by the time of our wedding, the lily of the valley were gone. We had to order them specially from some distant place at a significant cost. I used to have them planted here and they began to take over - pushing up the sidewalk and even growing in the garage. When we remodeled, they were ripped out and while I always hoped to plant more, I never have. Probably a good thing as I wouldn't be able to keep up with them. But I do miss them. Feel better soon!!
ReplyDeleteHead colds are awful! They have never found the cure for the common cold - hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so pretty, and I love that the chives are from your FIL I believe.
Ugh on the cold. I had one a few weeks ago. Not fun at all. Your rug looks like a biggie. Pretty flowers. Yes my lily of the valley spread like a weed. Janice
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for your cold. I hear you on the mucus. I don't know how in the world anyone can produce so much (I speak from the voice of experience.) The rug is really coming along and I adore the flowers. Lily of the Valley is my favorite and I have it in a spot where it can spread to its heart's content. Thank goodness!
ReplyDeleteHead colds are the worst it seems and I too wonder where all that stuff comes from outside your nose. SO, if you ever find out...Seriously, I hope you do feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen fairy lilies before. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love that pink. I don't love that you have a headcold. Hope you continue to feel better and better.
ReplyDeleteLily of the Valley has spread terribly in parts of my garden too. To make things worse they hardly bloomed this year. Mostly they just pushed up leaves. Creeping Jenny is another invader. Grrr.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better by today. Having a bad cold is so unpleasant.
being sick is such a waste of time!! it's good that you have hobbies you can still do while you try to recover. barefoot contessa is my favorite!!
ReplyDeleteSummer colds are the worst. I hope you're feeling better soon. We've had some rainy weather but weekends haven't been bad. It's just been chilly for this time of year. Today will be the warmest we've had with the high 80's but then back to cooler. Crazy! Being retired has the advantage of every day being the weekend!
ReplyDeleteFairy Lilies are pretty. Hope the cold is better. I hear you on the amount it can produce. Amazes me sometimes. Feel better.
