Happy Wednesday

We are hotter than august right now. while I hate the humid part of it
I am not going to complain the winter will be here before we know it.
So what did I do in this heat? Well I baked a batch of cookies.
peanut butter with home made blackberry jam.

I finished my mask that I was working on this spring.
I think a pair of wings and Miss B will be one pretty butterfly for
Halloween.(The colors are much brighter in person)

And this is my ta da dump find for the week.
I hate the frame but I love the stitching. Not sure just what
I will do with it but it looks like fall for sure.

I am going to try to can  green tomato relish.
I am thinking about pickles but haven't found a recipe I think
is easy and good. Any suggestions?
***
My daughter will be 30 this Friday! How is that possible?
Happy Birthday!

  1. Hi Cathy, another great Ta Da find. Your cookies look delicious. 93 degrees in my neck of the woods, my Fall Mums are wilting in this heat and humidity...Happy Birthday to Miss B's mommy...

  5. My grandma's recipe for Bread and Butter Pickles is really good.

    SWEET BREAD & BUTTER PICKLES
    (Makes 7 pints)

6 quarts of unpeeled cucumbers (about 16 at 8" long and 1" in diameter)
    4 peppers—2 green—2 red
2 jars of Pearl onions or 12 small onions

Wash vegetables and put aside to drain

Cut ends of cucumbers. Use medium to small cucumbers.

Put vegetables in container, pour on ¾ cups pickling salt and let stand for three hours

    Drain in colander

In large pot, bring to a boil:

    1 quart cider vinegar
    3 tsp. tumeric
    7 cups granulated sugar
    1 Tbls. Mustard seed
    12 whole cloves

Dump in vegetables and bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes

    Seal in pint jars immediately

Can water bath for an additional 15 minutes if you want to

  6. It's difficult to adjust to the extreme temperature changes.

Good job on that butterfly mask.
I'm looking forward to seeing miss B wearing it with pride.

I love peanut butte cookies, I want one or two. Too bad I can use a replicator like on Star Treck to beam some in my plate.
    Great dump find.

    Hugs,

  11. Mmmm I'm hungry for a cookie now. I love the mark Kathy and how cute will she be in it...but hope it goes up on your wall after. The needle work is beautiful...looks like it needs a new "old" frame.
