Oh The Cold!

We have been in the deep freeze for longer than I can to to think about and if we are not super cold it is snowing. We have gotten more snow that most full winters already. Because it has been so cold most of us have been housebound no skiing, walks, or snowshoeing.

Saturday we never got above zero we were minus -6  at noon.
I decided to do the bake along with King Arthur Flour, it came out wonderful. I also sorted out my craft room to get things together for my rug hooking retreat in Maine this month. I have realized that I have 3 on going projects. I hit a rough spot and I set it aside and start something else. Well my resolution is to finish up what I have going before I can start another project. Most of the three pieces are at least half done and not to large.

We are warming up this week (yahoo) my daughter and grand daughter will be skiing this week with school so it is good it is warming up, but they are calling for an ice storm by weeks end ugh!

I finally got new glasses this week but they are going to take some getting use to. They are a bit different than I had. They do seem to fit my face better and are comfortable. It is sure nice to see again.

My sister in law retired this past Thursday. Lucky her! I hope she enjoys every minute of it she earned it as an ER nurse for years.
But I can not wait for my turn!
Have a great week!

I like your new happy back ground on your blog. I am so sorry about all of that cold and snow. I am so glad you get a warm up this week.
Not about the ice storm though.
I was looking in my cabinet, I need to finish binding three rugs. We are having cold this week, so I think I will do that.
I hope your week is lovely,
Kim

So happy you are going to rug camp, too. Always a good time!
Congrats to s-i-l!
We have been frigid, but you have been frigider! (Like my new word?)
Hugs :)

I'm with you on wanting warmer weather. I'm tired of carrying pails of hot and cold water twice a day in my end of the barn. I'm hoping that tomorrow morning is the last time as it's supposed to warm up a bit.

I haven't baked in so long, I think I've forgotten how to bake, lol... I'm looking forward to retirement as I think I've kind of lost my own identity with my schedule. I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark... I need a hair cut and I just can't seem to get it done.

Wishing you a great time at your hooking appointment. Stay warm and safe...
Hugs, Julia❤️

I am so tired of this cold and being stuck inside, going for rides and bargain shopping is getting old.
Warming up but rain here.

Yes...this cold is ridiculous! But, at least we have plenty of hobbies to keep hands and minds busy indoors...hooking a rug with the aromas of fresh baked goodies in the air sounds dreamy! :-) Looking forward to warmer temps this weekend... let's all get outdoors and soak in some sunshine! :-)

We've warmed up but a snowstorm and more cold is coming this weekend. I know I should be used to this weather but boy I can't wait for Spring! I'm jealous of all the folks I know at our hospital who are retiring. I too can't wait for that! 2 more years and then I can join the ranks of the "sleep in past 5am"! Stay safe and warm!
