Hooks, Hockey, and Hanging Around

Saturday I headed to Maine for a hook in.
Met up with Donna (husband's cousin) and had a really great day.
I am showing just a few of the rugs. These rugs were made using only t-shirts the colors were vibrant and I was told the rugs could be washed.

Doesn't this look like one proud chicken, great colors.

The colors in this rug are amazing! If you make the picture bigger you an see the wool used around the flowers such a great look.

And yes while we were there I actually hooked a bit.
There was a vendor there that was selling little wooden stools with a pattern and the wool. My friend and I just loved the look so much! When I got home husband said "let's go to an auction" so off we went and ....

Were I got the cutest little stool ever! So as you can see the top needs lots of help I am going to hook a piece to go on it.

This afternoon we took a ride over to the big lake to watch some
pond hockey. Huge tournament people come from all over to play.

The bob houses were there, I can not believe there was a lot of fishing going on but lots of fun.

And some bob houses are a mans castle. There were food vendors on the lake so some french fries and watching some of the action and it was time to head home.
It has been very cold and lots of wind even though we dressed warm and the sun was out we had had enough.

My latest magazine so I will see if there is some pattern in here that I can adapt for my stool and then hook on my rug a bit. while watching the football game.  I hate to say this but at 9pm I go to another tv and watch Downton Abbey I do have my priorities.

Another big storm on the way for tomorrow.
happy February!

I've never heard of a bob house and you live on Bob House Road, right? Is there a connection? I thought your house was named after a person.
Your rug is off to a great start. Haven't pulled a loop on mine in over a week...sigh.
What a fun, little footstool. I'm sure you will find the perfect pattern.
Stay warm and safe. It is snowing like crazy here. The biggest storm so far this season.
Spring, please get here soon.
Hugs :)

Great British Bake off is on here in PA, before Downton, so watching that, too! No football for me...EVER...!

The rugs are beautiful I love the look of the black and white leaves, what a great wool texture.

Wow, those hockey rinks are big. They used to skate on the river in front of our house but since the Mactaquac dam was built, the courant is too strong and the ice is not safe so nobody skate on the river anymore.

That a cute little stool. i'm sure you can make a nice hook top for it.

We're expecting the same storm you are tomorrow or the day after.

Take care and stay warm.
Hugs,
JB

Lucky you to get to the hook in, is that the same one Lauri went to? Love all the houses and fun ones too, looks like a great day to be out. I hit the antique barn myself and found a few nice, slightly used prims.

I love those fishing shacks. So cute and fun. Oh, that little footstool is perfect. Guess I need to go to Walmart and look for that magazine. It's the only place in town that sells it

What beautiful designs. And I love the little stool you found to make something special of the top. I've never tried to hook but I love these designs. Enjoy your week! Hugs, Diane
