Proddy

I got 2 new magazines in the mail today. I am so thankful for them as
I am going no where in this cold.

So I went to my guild meeting and there was a proddy class.
so here is what I have done I have not made up my mind about it yet.

This is the pattern. yep a very simple flower it takes an obscene amount
of wool.
****
This has been an interesting week, we have been seeing our oil provider
on the news for non delivery. Because we have a wood stove our oil lasts longer.
So we made the decision to change oil providers. I guess everyone else
did too. Our now oil provider is the largest in the state so the smaller ones are
over taxed. I finally found one that was happy to have our business (after calling several.)
I am thankful that we can pay for oil ( I know there are many who struggle)
I am thankful for the woman who answered the phone at our new provider.
instead of just sighing and saying NO NEW CLIENTS she listened and thanked me
for not being in an emergency and thinking ahead.

So since it is another very cold night I will end with....
What is the warmth of summer without the cold of winter to give it sweetness
                                     John Steinbeck

Love the Steinbeck quote!

We are not accustomed to such winter weather as we are having here. Last night's low temperature set a new record, the coldest in many years!

Stay safe and warm!

That does look like it will take a lot of wool. I bet it will be pretty though. I'm glad you found a new oil provider. That would be a little scary with this winter weather, even with a wood stove.

A friend sent me a proddy tool, still haven't tried it. I also had the other one that you pulled the piece in and out of the hole, but gave them to someone who wanted to try it. Would be fun for a bathroom rug.

Yesterday our high was 16 which is very low for northern Virginia. School kids got a day off! Glad you realized you needed a new provider for oil and found one. Guess you have to try proddy once to know if you want to do more! Stay warm!

A good day to snuggle in...but appears relief is in sight. We had an oil furnace when we first moved in our house almost 37 years ago. During a very cold period, our oil provider didn't show up and we ran out. (not just us but many homes on our street.) My brother in law actually hi-jacked an oil truck of the company we dealt with by pulling his car in front of it and telling the driver he wouldn't move until the driver got the ok from the company to come to our house and fill up the tank. As the oil truck drove up our street every neighbor came running out to plead with the driver. That spring we changed to natural gas.
Glad you found a new provider!

Your proddy is looking great! I've never tried it. We need to think of flowers... to get us through the snow and cold. ;-)

I love proddy and am loving yours! As for being grateful that you can pay for oil and for the nice person on the other end of the phone ~ I love your attitude!!!

Just think--all the moisture from all this snow is going to make our gardens bloom like crazy this spring. Taller and bigger plants. I just know it!!

Ahh...a girl after my own magazine addiction heart! It's nice to read about gardens in the cold of winter. And baby, it's been cold. It's warming up now and I know I'll appreciate the warmth of summer more, and for some good news about the cold..it's killing the pesky buggy pests of summer! Something to look forward too!

Aww to new magazines to enjoy! Glad you were able to find a new oil delivery service...good thing you have a wood stove, too.
I've never tried proddy so it will be neat to see your project come along!

Thanks for sharing the Steinbeck quote I need it tabooed on my hand right now to remind me that there is a spring to follow this cold.
I always feel guilty complaining about our temps when you guys have it so much rougher than us. we got down to 19 which here is completely horrific for us...haha and in this old house my heat won't keep up so I am miserable. Wish I had your monster you keep in your basement to warm my house.
Glad you found a new oil provider and will be warm the rest of this winter.
Your new piece will be really pretty.
I can't blog these days because my computer is too slow. Santa did not bring me one so I have to break down and buy one.
Take care honey and stay warm
Oh I am dying to do a post to announce that my daughter is engaged. Hopefully in near future.
Love
Maggie

So nice you have the wood stove.
This is our first Winter without and our electricity bill and fuel has just been obscene!
Like you, I'm thankful I can afford it, but still had to throw money away on it!!

Wish we had a wood stove. What a savings on fuel. I am dreaming about spring. This winter has been soooo cold. But, just think the winter is just a little nap until all of the blooms show their lovely faces once again in Spring and Summer ~

That's exciting Cathy...good for you. Have you made one before? I'm excited to try one at some point. Sure does look like a ton of wool though. Good luck!
