It's Falling.....

I have hung up my Santa hat for the season.

We have seen a lot of this. This was taken before the last foot
fell this week.

Tonight this is falling like a stone. This was taken at 6:45
and by the time I write this at 7 15 it is now 6 below.
How low will it go????

But the beast in the basement(our woodstove) is keeping the house
nice and toasty without keeping the oil man in the money.
***
Our week has been a hard one we miss our Sadie kitty so much.
She always met us at the stairs when we came home and sat in the big window to say
good by in the morning. I have been on line looking at other kitties at the shelter
but I just can't do it. It is not like we are replacing a cup. 20 years is a long time
she was with our daughter when she was 10 a little girl.
When David was so sick she insisted on laying on him or near him.
Oh I could go on but most of you have had the loss of a pet who was more than a pet.
I want to thank you all for your messages it helped more than you know.
***
Tomorrow I will get to go to my rug hooking guild there is a class
on proddy I think it will help to get back to normal. Keep warm everyone.
I am off to find a cozy place to wait out the cold.

Enjoy your class.
I know it is hard, but remember that Sadie is waiting at the Rainbow Bridge, smiling down on you, in perfect health.
It's getting cold In Ohio,
too, but you win and I don't feel bad at all.
Hugs :)

Yesterday was minus 35 with the windchill. Not sure what that is in Fahrenheit but it was COLD. And still is. No wood stove here but the furnace is thumping away.
When it's time for a new kitty to join your family, you will know

It sure is cold, too cold to go out and enjoy the snow. Unfortunately we are getting rain again, so it will ruin it. It is hard to lose a pet we have had so long, I still can't see getting another dog right now, my guy was my best buddy and I figure when the time is right, I will know it.

They have closed schools today for monday because of extreme cold coming, this doesnt happen very often so must be awfully cold temps.. Our fur babes are such a part of our family, she is in your heart forever. I lost gizzy and Sally this summer and i remember when mark was sick sally would lay next to his bed and gizzy on his lap.. Such comfort they are and so are their memories.. Enjoy your cozy evening!

We are seeing those low temps also and 6-10 inches of new snow coming in tomorrow afternoon, through Monday noon. Reminds me of the winters we had when I was a kid--kind of nice to see a "normal" winter again. You need a lap cat to help keep you warm. 20 years? That is extraordinary for a cat. You obviously were good parents to her. It is sad--I know.

It was a while after my Shadow girl passed that I was able to adopt another dog. And of course Shadow was way different than Ben as each has their own personality. I agree that one cannot replace the beloved pet. But there is still room in your heart to love an additional one who will fill the void.

Compared to you, we have a heat wave as it is 9 degrees now. When I first got up this morning it was 7 degrees. Stay in and keep warm.

Cathy so sorry to hear about your loss.
These temperatures and this snow is getting old.
I can't wait to hear about your proddy class and anxious to try it as well. Have a great day.

Yes, it is definitely cold where you are! We are having cold temperatures, too, with record lows predicted for Monday night! I send you hugs!

Cathy, you are not going to believe it, but we have one of those Santa hats too. My very conservative husband wore it to his office Christmas party last year and people there could not believe he was doing that. I got him a plaid vest and bow tie and I thought he looked very festive! I sure hope you warm up soon. Good thing you've got your stove!

Have you booked your tickets to Florida? LOL...I still have not adopted another cat, I have been to the shelter numerous times, I begin to feel overwhelmed...The time is still not right...

We're under a winter weather alert and we're expecting more snow and very frigid temps tomorrow thru Tues. I'm loving our woodstove right now too! Have fun with your hooking class and I think if you wait, a new kitty will adopt you when the time is right. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss. It's really hard, I know.

We are having terribly cold weather too. Those kitties work themselves into our routines so much that when they are gone it is such a profound change. Take some time to grieve your loss and when you are ready the right kitty will find you. Stay safe and warm. ~ Diane

It's so hard losing a beloved cat..I'm sure with time you will get another one.. Cats are such a comfort.
We have the same frigid temperatures and lots of snow. Schools in the area have been closed. My birds at the feeders are hungry. Poor things..
Have a great blessed day~! Stay safe and warm and know that this cold spell will pass soon.

What a great life Sadie had while honoring you with her presence. 20 yrs is a long time. I understand that you grieve for her - I've been where you are and it was days before I could even talk about it. I understand your heart ache, and I'm soooooo sorry...It doesn't help that you're sort of "home bound" with those cold temps. BRRRR! Sure hope some warmer weather finds us all soon!!
