A Penny Saved....

Lucky to have a  Friend with chickens who shares her bounty yummmmm

I made a Frittata that had spaghetti and vegetables with a generous
helping of cheese on the top. I will make it again but without the spaghetti and
more veggies. A really inexpensive dinner with lots left over.

I started up the old bread machine. (A yard sale find a few years ago)
There is nothing like warm bead for dinner:)

I found the recipe in All you. I get a free subscription with coke caps.
I don't drink much soda but if you tell people that you are collecting something
it is amazing how many you will get donated. You just enter the code in the cap
on the website www.mycokerewards.com and reap the rewards. I have gotten several free
magazines through that.

I also pick up my grocery store free magazine, it always has great
coupons and recipes.

I hit the library this week. The book" Inspired You" is written by the blogger Miss Mustard Seed.
It is a beautiful book and I have enjoyed reading it. The Victoria has the designer from Downton
Abby in it. One of the reasons I love that show is because of how beautiful it is, and if you
haven't read Sara Allen Addison yet she is a fun and magical must read.

I am hooking again slow but sure. This pattern was given to me
by a very good hooking friend.

I have bought some of the wool but not all. I hooked this corner
with a grayish brown I don't like it so out it comes.
Those are my bargains for this week. It has been extremely cold
and it is snowing right now.
***
I went to a couple of movies in the past week.
of course matinee (cheaper)
Saving Mr Banks I enjoyed ,And August: Osage County
which is very dark, the acting is great, the story is very very dark
not sure I really liked it.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Welcome to my new followers!

Nice to have fresh eggs and I am a thrift cooker too. I tend to make things that I can eat one way and be recooked into something new for the rest of the week. I also use the library, but I go online and order books which is nice since I can get more choices from other libraries and have them sent to mine. They also have ebooks now, so nice to get things for free.

What beautiful eggs! The frittata is amazing! It has been years since we had a bread machine. I certainly did use it often, though. I think I wore it out.:) I've never tried rug-hooking. Your work looks great to me! Stay safe and warm!

Hooking?
I've been wanting to try my hand at this, though I know absolutely nothing about it. I've been looking for a beginner kit - still looking. Yours is beautiful! But not as beautiful at that Frittata. Wow!

There's nothing like farm fresh eggs! Lucky you! There's also nothing like a home cooked meal and home made bread!

Love what you're hooking!

Wow a jam packed full blog Cathy!!! Why don't you like that grey?? Just my 2 cents and you'll get change, but I like it. I think it might be neat for your background wool. What color were you thinking??
I want to see August in Osage County. I asked a friend last week if maybe we could go.She said yes,but with all the snow & WAY below normal temps,I don't know if she will. If it's "dark" I'll probably really like it,it'll match my life,LOL!!!

Jack has a patient who brings us eggs from her chickens...just like in the days when patients paid with farm goods! You know I'm a magazineaholic so I better check out the bottle cap deals! Stay warm and enjoy that delish bread!

Lucky you to get all this frugal stuff and fresh eggs.
The Frittata looks appetizing. I'm getting hungry just by looking at it.

It's nice seeing you hooking again. It's a cute pattern and I love the colors, even the one you are pulling out.

Stay safe and warm.
Hugs,
JB

I was going to go see August--Osage County, but my friend Beth went and told me it was very dark and a lot of swearing. I decided I didn't need to see dark--or fighting mother's and daughter's--and also can do without all the cuss words. The Polar Vortex is headed your way, so hang on. It will probably be 90 degrees by spring, LOL
