Church Sale

On Thursday a friend and I went to a church sale. I think we
did ok. I got this kitty meow piece see kitty in with santa? .50 cents.

Then I got some holiday things. The old Christmas candles I remember
my grandmother having. she never burned hers either just for show.
the little Santa is chalk ware from Holland.

A couple of vintage canning jars. I like to put my rice, and different grains in

Some movies for when we are house bound.

I got this little rock hand painted like a bunny at a yard sale a couple
of weeks ago. I think he will look great near our pond.
One of my favorite thrift stores (where I got this peeler)
gives away apples, really good apples, heirlooms. I filled a bag
and made....

an apple pie. I found this one on a blog I think it is good but
I did make some changes. I do not like a super sweet pie.
for the apple mixture I used a 1/4 cup sugar instead of 1/2 cup
and the topping I would have used brown sugar instead of white.

It has been a though week David has been very sick all week.
He did see the Dr and they gave him something but it doesn't seem to be
working. Plus Daughter has been sick.
So I have been a bit anxious and over whelmed.
I hope you are all healthy and enjoying your holiday weekend

Hi Cathy, I too have been making pies, I use mostly Cortland apples with a few Macs added in. How wonderful to get free apples...Hope David feels well soon, Mr. Dog Trot and I got our flu shots today. It seems like colds and flu are going around early this season. Stay well and prayers for David and your daughter too...

Oh Cathy I'm so sorry to hear that David is sick. A few of my friend have told me about themselves or loved ones who have a bug. Hope I'm lucky enough to get by.

Your goodies look marvelous and the pie makes my mouth water. I'd have gone with the less sugar and make it brown myself. Good job.

I'm so sorry about David and your daughter being sick all week. I sure hope that they will soon feel better.
I hope that it's nothing serious.

You got quite a good haul from the church sale and that apple pie looks delicious. I don't like my apple pie too sweet either but I still love that sinful pecan pie... I inch my way through it.

I'll keep your love ones in my prayers.
Hugs,
JB

I hope David and your daughter are on the mend. I know it is worrisome for you but hopefully it's just a bug and not more serious.

We had 3 of our grandkids here last night - they went home at noon and at 2pm the other two came for the night. I love having them as they get big so fast.

Hope you had a good time with Miss B!!
