A Lot Happening At Acorn Hollow

David thought since I have been so stressed and had to go back to work after
6 days out. He would make me dinner. Who could resist this? Not me! He found the
recipe in the old farmers almanac. it is a meat pie with carrots, celery, potatoes and onions.
I was surprised and very happy to have dinner ready when I walked in.

He also bought us a couple of slices of cheese cake. As you can
see he has the oxygen on BUT the good news is he is off oxygen as of today.
The nurse had him running up and down the hall before she would say it is
ok to be off the oxygen! We went to Boston today of course game 6 of the world
series is being played there today, Pres. Obama was in town, and there is a concert.
So to say it was busy was an understatement.

When we got home I made cookies these are my own creation.
My favorite ginger cookie with a pumpkin kiss in the middle.
It is so yummy if you would like my ginger cookie recipe let me know.

There were snowflakes in the air today so our yard is looking
a lot like winter. I still love the birches no matter what the season.

I keep my cone flower stems up till spring the little birds love the seeds all winter.

An of course our fire pit may get a fire or two before winter.
Well it is a long winded post so I will say goodnight
Go Red Soxs!

Good news to hear about no more oxygen! That is a good-looking meat pie, too! I'm interested in the pumpkin kisses. I don't do much looking for candy, but they certainly do sound tasty!

Glad David is feeling better. Wow, how lucky you are to have a man who knows his way around the kitchen. My first husband (deceased)was a fabulous cook but left me a huge mess to clean up afterwards. But one out of two ain't bad.

Everyone is a winner with David feeling well enough to bake you a fantastic happy face meat pie and no more oxygen tank to carry around and his Red Socks winning. I hope that returning back to work will be a diversion for you and that Davis stays healthy.

It's darn cold here too and winter is sure not far away. We haven't seen any snow flakes here but we've have a few hard frost.
Stay warm and cosy and Happy Halloween

Hugs,
JB

The food looks so yummy.. Today is a cool sunny day in Iowa.. Hubby is watching the Iowa/Wisconsin football game.. I decided to make chilli.. No beans...So I have some pinto and navy beans cooking and it's almost ready to add the rest of the ingredients.
It's fall and ready for soup comfy food.
Have you ever heard of the Nutri-Bullet? I have been using it and can't believe how much more energy I have and my diabetes sugar tests have been remarkable lower.. I have lost weight and I just feel so much better. My sister in law had stage 3 cancer and she is using the nutri-bullet and went on a vegetarian diet.. She has no cancer.. the drs. can't believe it.. She did no chemo or radiation.. GOogle nutri-bullet and read it for yourself.. They sell for $60 here at WalMart..
Have a tiggeriffic day~! ta ta for now from Iowa:)
