Canned

Husband made a sign for the end of our driveway pretty cute:)

Our trees are losing their beautiful dark green of summer.
While I like fall it is so short here and then we are into winter.

My sunflowers are still pretty, we lost a few during an awful thunder storm.

I canned this past weekend for the first time in my life! This is green tomato
relish I tasted before I put it all in the jar and pretty good if I do say so myself.

And this is bread and butter pickles another winner! Now I am itching to
do more. I have lots of cukes left. My next batch will be mustard pickles
I had them as a kid and loved them.

This is from a week a go it was a hike my Thursday friend and I
did. It is about 3 miles from my house so pretty.

We saw these flowers on the way up. I have to say I have never seen these before.
If anyone has any  ideas I would love to hear them.

Well it is time to say goodnight we are all tucked in.
I hope your weekend was a good one.

Canning gives such a sense of accomplishment. Nice job. And that view on your walk is gorgeous!!! My favorite part of this post though is the light in the window. Gives the feeling of a safe, welcoming home.

That is a fun sign, I keep saying i need to make one for our house. I used to make painted ones for people, need to get back into painting again.

Canning is fun, isn't it!? We are only 56 degrees here today and rainy. BUT, we are forecast to be in the 80's by week's end. I have so much to do outside and fear, fall won't be long enough to get it done. Love, love, love the sign!!!

Just buzzing by for a visit. Your home looks so quintessentially New England to me. I love it! Your canning looks delish!

Yes. Fall is my favorite too... and I do celebrate Spring when it arrives!!! Summer and Winter I can take or leave... though I'm beginning to appreciate the beauty of a light snow... and I do stress light! lol! I keep meaning to try canning too. Maybe next year if the squirrels will leave my garden alone...

Hubby does the canning here. I'm learning but don't trust myself completely yet. Love the rustic sign your hubby made. Warm Blessings! Amy

Love that sign!

I have canned bread and butter pickles in the past, as well as pickled beets and other special "gifts" from our garden. None this year, however.

We've been canning, too -- lots of tomatoes. Made tomatoe marmalade -- a little too sweet for me. I love bread and butter pickles -- we have to do a batch! Love the sign. Sarah

I love the sign he made you!
Enjoyed all your photos.
Wow! Those flowers are gorgeous, no clue what they are unless it is some kind of Bromelane. ( I can't spell it even with the spell check, but I think that is what it is). (related to pineapple plants). Anyway I loved your post, and the quote at the end.

A pretty cozy picture of your house in the evening! :) I did a lot of canning this summmer but its' been years and years since I had.

I picked a bucket of tomatoes yesterday but decided to invite family over for a spaghetti dinner on Sunday and use tomatoes for sauce plus send some home with people! :) A little tired of canning at this point : )
