Here Is Pie In You Eye

My first strawberry rhubarb pie.
I have had them just not cooked one. It came out great
if I do say so myself.

This violet was my mother's it blooms constantly it makes me think
of my mom everday and it makes me think she is thinking of me too.

My rose bush is blooming, it smells so lovely.

And what would a post be without some bargains. The Jr snow
shoes were 5.00 just waiting for Miss B to grow into them.

I also got this amazing chair in great shape for 5.00. I also have a pair of snow shoes for
myself for 20.00. A good bargain day.

I am finishing a rug by whipping as you can see I am not so good at it
First of all I hate this process I usually use tape or wool to finish my rugs.
I now have 3 pieces to finish this way because I didn't put the tape on at first.
I have learned a lesson.

My Dad died when I was 19 so I didn't get many father's days with him.
I still think of him all of these years later and wish he could have met my wonderful daughter and
our amazing Miss B

Happy Father's Day to David. I'm sure that he will be very pleased with the pie. Now I feel like having pie, I haven't had any in a long time.

You must be taking good care of your mom's violet for them to keep on blooming.

Nothing like a blooming rosebush to spice up your life. I planted one in memory of my mom and dad and they are both all budded but no blooms yet.

Wow, you really had a great haul this time. Love the little snowshoes.

I think that you did a fantastic job with the whipping. It looks really even.
Enjoy your Sunday.

Hugs,
JB

Your pie is stunning! I'd love a slice! As usual, your finds are great!

I know your Dad is looking down on you and your family! I was 29 when my dad went to heaven, you're right, it wasn't enough time!

Your pie looks so good!!!
What great bargains. That chair looks so comfy.
Your flowers are gorgeous. I think after the long winter the flowers are especially beautiful this year.
I have one more rug to finish and I may try whipping with yarn. I've never done that. I always sew my rug tape on after I'm done hooking. I've never done it beforehand.
Happy Father's Day to DH.
Hugs :)

Cathy,
That pie looks delish and I'll bet it was low calorie too! LOL!! Your crust looks divine!
It's so neat how flowers seem to speak to us especially violets. My Grandma adored them and could grow them like nobody else! She used to take the "looking glass" and inspect them up close!
Great finds! Those snowshoes will come in handy when you're snowed in!
Hugs!!

You've had some very wonderful and touching posts lately and I do read them even though I don't comment on each one. Your pie looks so good, maybe next week when my garden is in better order I'll make one too! I always freeze my abundance of rhubarb and use it in the winter too. Love your chair, I have been wanting one of those for ages, what a find! ~ Diane

The pie looks great. I don't usually add the rhubarb to my strawberry pie. I'm not a fan of the texture of it. (I know, I'm weird)
Be careful of those super comfy zero gravity chairs. As soon as I lean back I am asleep in about 5 minutes :)

Cannot believe how lucky you are at 'da dump; what a wonderful chair and can't understand why someone would throw it away.

Great whipping job and I hate the binding process myself ~ think all of us hookers do.

Every violet plant I had I killed. My mother had a green thumb and her violets were prolific growers.

How in the world do you get those violets to bloom all the time? Really, I'd like to know--mine are so stingy!! Love that pie!!! My MIL use to make the best Rhubarb pie and Rhubarb/Strawberry.

Your pie looks so delicious! Lots of great goodies, as always. I love your violet. Years ago I had one in my classroom in Va. and brought it to my Fla. classroom in the foot space of my M.G....on the autotrain. It lived for years.

Wow if I could make a pie that looks like this I would go into the pie business. lol
This is one pie I have never tasted. Isn't that strange at my age that I have never had a piece of Rhubarb Pie.
Your violet and rose are gorgeous. In my home in town I had the prefect long window in my kitchen that I grew the most beautiful violets but have had no luck out here. I did decide months ago to try again but so far it is healthy looking but no blooms.
Good luck with your rugs. I love your bargains.
Hope your well honey
