What A Week!

Well first it rained all week and I mean rained. I got together with a friend on Thursday
and then we went to a giant church sale. And needless to say I got a lot.
Here are a few pictures I will show more later this week.
This sweet red work I am going to make into a pillow.

I got some amazing books. Do you see the Tasha Tudor books
Yes that is 2 of them for 1.00 each:)

I got the sound of music and a couple of DVDs .
That is a stained glass sun catcher that I thought would be nice in the window.

In between going to Boston (Great appointment by the way) Going out to dinner
with friends, We purchased new blinds for our large windows in the kitchen.
It will come in handy for those hot summer days (if we ever get them)
Snow in NH this weekend:(

Saturday I went to class on hand cut. It was fun and I really enjoyed everyone I met.
Tom was the teacher and did a great job. It was offered by Wool and Goods.

These are parts of a rug that was drawn for me to hook for my Miss B.
More to come since I am finally hooking again.( My bunny has no tail yet.)

My aunt has been very ill. She has scared me so much.
I know she is 89 but if you saw her and talked to her you
would guess her at least 15 years younger. She is home from the hospital
and struggled a bit. Now she seems to be on the mend. I had breakfast with her
before my class on Saturday and before we left for NH husband and I went to
spend some time with her. we are a little under an hour and half  from her so I can't just pop
in. Before I left I asked if I could raid her extensive rhubarb patch.
So I guess I will be cooking something this week.
***
I hope you are enjoying your extra time with family and friends this weekend.
I will be working tomorrow keeping our soldiers who gave all in my thoughts.

Who in the world would put Tasha Tudor's books in the dump? I am glad they have found a good home with you. You must make Tasha's blueberry cake, it is simply the best blueberry cake I have ever made and devoured! Did you receive snow? I certainly hope not. Let us hope the sun shines this week, my hands are just itching for warm soil to work in!!!

Lovin' your new rug!
I wish we could get a bit of your rain! I planted a few cannas today and the ground is so dry. Not as cold here but downright chilly for the end of May.
Have a wonderful holiday, dear friend!
God bless our soldiers.
Pug hugs :)

Love the neat stuff you got at the church yard sale, especially the red work fabric.

Sorry about your aunt being sick. I'm glad that you could spend some time with her. It probably meant the world to her.

Miss B will love the cute rug. Have fun hooking it for her. I bet you'll get that done in no time.

I'm sure your new blind will keep the house much cooler this summer when it gets hot. It will get hot...

I have a big patch of rhubarb that I would love to share with you if you lived closer. I picked some this evening and my husband cooked them in the microwave.

I hope that the weather will be nice for Memorial Day tomorrow.

Hugs,
JB

Great finds! The Sound of Music is my all-time favorite! We heard that some place in Vermont had 7 inches of snow today! Miss B should love that bunny! Good to hear that you had good news from Boston. You had a busy week!

I'm liking the new rug so far. It looks like a fun pattern. It is nice you had a good appointment and got to see your Aunt. I'm sure your visit brightened her.
I'm pretty sure we are done with the snow but I haven't seen a hint of a lilac bloom on my tree yet. But the june bugs are out.

Cute rug you're working on for Miss B...I do hope your Aunt is feeling better soon. She sounds like my Mom! I love rhubarb but hardly ever have any. My boss brought in rhubarb cheesecake last week and I was amazed how tastey it was! I'm sorry you had to work today but I'm also so thankful for all service men and women who give all for our freedom. Have a good week.

Oh I love rhubarb!
I hope your Aunt stays well. She sounds like a lot of fun!
You always seem to rate so well when it comes to shopping. There must be some really great places out there.
And lastly, I'm so glad to hear the Hubs check-up went well!
