Is There A Maid In The House?

Yes that would be me! Husband has the flu, yes he and I both had
the flu shots so that is why this season is so bad because the flu shot did not cover
the flu going around this year. I have been chasing germs for the past two
days. About 50 loads of laundry and I walk around with the cleaning spray
and a roll of paper towels. My hands are raw from washing them and using hand sanitize

I was feeling I needed some comfort food. I found this recipe
for tomato mac and cheese on line I added some bacon we had in the
frig, it is so yummy.

I also made a banana bread  it is still hot so I haven't had a taste yet.

Husband went to our local Dr after we were done there I called Boston.
I usually get a nurse because it was Saturday. But I spoke to one of the transplant Dr
he assured me he would be fine but if it he got any worse to take him directly to our
local hospital and call them. I am happy to say he is feeling a hair better
he is sitting up watching our beloved Patriots play.

Hi Cathy, sending well wishes your husband's way. My hands too are raw from all the washing, I took my chances and paid Walmart a visit for hand cream. My mum was to come and spend a few days with us but called this morning to say she has come down with the flu. All of us received flu shots, I guess it's the luck of the draw...stay well, the mac and cheese sounds and looks delicious. Blessings, Julie.

Cathy, I'm sorry about the flu visiting your house. I hope that your husband soon feels stronger and better.

My hands are constantly in the water too and they all get cracked this time of year. I think that the short daylight hours is also a factor as my hands are constantly in the water in the summer and they don't crack. Every winters when the days are short is the same thing and as soon as the day are longer, my hands are fine.

I made banana bread too and used some whole wheat flour instead of white this time and I like it better.

That mac and Cheese looks yummy.

Have a great week.
Hugs,
JB

So sorry that bug found your home...dang! I don't get the flu shot and it really makes upper management mad, but I hate putting that into my body when it usually doesn't even cover the flu bug of the season. I haven't called in sick for over 4yrs and I don't go to work sick. I feel blessed to be healthy but it sure makes the makers of the drug mad when we say "no thanks"...in fact they may make it mandatory and fire us if we refuse..so silly. I hope your hubby is doing good and you don't get it. I wash my hands constantly at work (and home!) and wearing a mask is my life! That's the life of an surgical tech!

Hi Cathy,
Hope your hubby is feeling better and you don't get it! It seems bad this year. I know what you mean about washing your hands and using that sanitizer. I've been using it for months but now I'm really really using it. I don't even like going out to places right now with so many people sick. And some of them don't know or care to stay home when they are spreading germs. When I'm sick I don't go anywhere becuase I feel so lousy!!! Take care!

I have heard that if you got the vaccine and still get the flu, it will be a much milder case. Hope so.

You both have my sympathy and prayers! My mother and I have both had a Very Bad Cold that doesn't want to go away, and my only comfort is that it isn't Flu. It has definitely taken the wind out of my sails!
Hope you are in recovery mode and getting stronger every day.

So sorry to hear that David has the flu. I hope he feels better real soon. We were just up to the T. Mountain today bringing all kinds of food to make my daughter feel better. I put a stew on in the slow cooker, and a roaster chicken in the oven. Ginger ale, cough drops and of course chocolate chip cookies. My hands are raw from all the hand washing I do all week at school.
