The Dentist...

I had to have a filling replaced not really my favorite thing.
But I really want to know, why do they want to carry on a conversation when they have both
hands in your mouth?

I tried to think of something beautiful to take my mind off it.

I though about the complete set of books I just got from 1909.
about a young woman going through college.

Now how many women went to college in 1909?
The caption reads;"Girls,This has to stop,"She announced
What could have they have been doing?
My lip is thawing out so I am off to clean the spare bedroom.
Miss Baby is coming for the weekend!

I hate the dentist office with a passion. The noises of the scraping and the drilling - yuck.
When they talk to me with my mouth full of hands, I answer in hand signals - thumbs up or thumbs down.

Enjoy Miss Baby!!!

I had a cleaning this week myself. It must be something they learn at dental school because I had the same problem... ;)

I have wondered about that too. I have a rather talkative dentist and he mumbles his words as he talks while he works away at my teeth. Never like to go to the dentist but I like that quote about being true to your teeth or they will be false to you.

I hope that Miss Baby will brighten your weekend.

Hugs, JB

Hi Cathy,
Certainly not my favorite place to go either! Love those books though. A great find. Hope things are ok there. Talk to you later.

*****our dentist will often tell me of the great trips that he and his family take from our business
alone! thanks a lot...i'm paying for those wonderful vacations around the world by trying to keep
some good dental care with our tribe. he likes gadgets...so he has this dvd player that is like a set of binoculars and he plugs in a movie. be careful of what you are watching while he/she is drilling. the scene in jerry mcguire with the dog watching them have a wild sexual encounter almost
had the drill go thru my cheek. we still laugh at that...so from now on it's something simple like the enchanted cottage! yes, why do they want a conversation even if the hygenist is cleaning???

This reminds me that I have to reschedule a dentist appt. to get a filling replaced. I had two done over Feb. break...the last one will have to wait until summer. I like my dentist though...he didn't believe I was 50!
Hugs,
Courtney

I hate going to the dentist. NO, I'm not afraid of the drill..just the bill! Plus, I'm a bit claustrophobic too. I really think I'm just not used to sitting quietly for more than a minute!

I think they chat to try to put you at ease. Of course nothing puts one at ease at the Dentist's office. I once heard that the worst dental patients are dentists!

Happy Mother's Day. My dentist doesn't talk to me but she talks to her assistant about me. Weird.
